Friends, hello everyone. You are on the Feeltime channel, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will consider watches from the Spinnaker microbrand from the Croft collection.

About a year ago, I brought a similar model in a gold-colored case, which, after my review, sold out in just a week, and then there were still decent requests, but there was no way to bring it back.



Unfortunately, that color is no longer available, but it became possible to bring such a vintage one, and I hope you will like the watch. And the model is really very interesting and high quality.  

Watch style

Let's start with the fact that this is a branded, modern vintage from Spinnaker. This niche was successfully occupied by the brand.  

Clock face

Usually I show the dials at the very end, but in this case I don’t want to drag it out.

This is a beautiful, silvery grain that adds even more to the vintage piggy bank.  

The golden hands and markers give a good contrast + the markers are quite tall, which creates a good volume to the dial.  

The applied Spinnaker logo looks clear and only complements the overall picture, and the second hand in a small dial is definitely the highlight of this watch.  

By the way, usually cyclops above the date annoy me a little, but in this case the “drop” looks very harmonious. Yes, and it works out its zoom function well.

I also want to draw your attention to the bezel.

It has a matte black insert and gold plating on the side, which harmonizes well with other colors of the case and dial.

The bezel is 120 clicks out, and the grip and travel are so good that I can confidently say it's the most comfortable bezel I've had to spin in recent months.  

Immediately, I want to deliberately draw your attention to the fact that the bezel of this particular model does not fall perfectly into zero.

More than once I encounter demanding customers who consider this a defect, when on an inexpensive segment watch, both the bezel and the second hand may not show perfectly in the mark.

The fact is that up to a certain price, no one is engaged in accurate calibration, so if everything is perfect in your watch, then we can assume that you are just lucky, but someone is less lucky.

For example, I recently had a Swiss Longines Hydroconquest on my review for almost $ 3,000 and his bezel did not ideally go to zero. This is by the way that someone in a $ 300 watch expects perfection.  

Case quality

If in general we talk about the watch case made of stainless steel, then its quality for its price is, as always, on top. Excellent satin finish with a good transition to a mirror finish between surfaces.

There is a Spinnaker engraving on the side of the case, the crown is nicely sized, comfortable and screwed into the case for better tightness. The water resistance of the watch is 150 meters.  

Strap quality

And despite the fact that here is genuine leather, which does not particularly like moisture, you can still swim in it, since the reverse side indicates that the skin is water-repellent.

The strap is thick, well made, has 2 locks for adjusting the length and a powerful stainless steel clasp engraved with a spinnaker.  

Mechanism

Through the back of the watch, you can see the Japanese self-winding mechanics from Citizen. Caliber Miyota 8218. Yes, this caliber is a little outdated, but in this model for me this is an obvious plus.

Firstly, it makes it possible to place the second hand on the dial in a small dial, which looks stylish. Secondly, its finish looks much nicer than that of the same Seiko NH35A, and given that we have a transparent cover, it is certainly more pleasant to admire this mechanism than the ugly, untreated NH35A.

Plus, the model has a custom pendulum Spinnaker.

Watch sizes

In terms of size, we have a diameter of 43 mm, from ear to ear - 51 mm, a thickness of 15 mm, taking into account glass and a back cover, and a weight of 107 grams.

On my hand, 18 cm in girth looks good, but you should understand that the watch is larger. My size is rather the minimum for this watch. Better to have a bigger hand.

Other characteristics

Of the indescribable characteristics, only a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating remains, which, by the way, is located above the bezel level, which gives that bezel additional protection.

And the Swiss Super Luminova on the hands, hour markers, which accumulates energy and shines brightly in the dark.

Results

The price of this model in our store today is UAH 10,550, plus a discount will be in effect for some time, at which the price has dropped to UAH 10,000.

For this price, you get a quality that is simply unrealistic to get from popular brands today. Moreover, the difference in price will be calculated not in thousands of hryvnias, but in 2-2.5 times.

In this case, we have a great design, excellent quality of materials and case processing, a cool, vintage and well-detailed dial and nice characteristics.

For your money, take it boldly, you will feel what high quality is for not expensive.
