Hello friends, you are on the Feeltime channel, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will consider the Longines Master Collection Swiss watch with very complex mechanics, which contains a complete calendar, chronograph and moon phase.
Usually I do not pay much attention to mechanisms, but it is in this model that a really complex automatic machine is installed for its price, which has practically no analogues in this price segment.
The Master Collection series was formed in 2005 and in a very short time won the hearts of Longines brand fans. The collection includes for the most part the so-called Casual (everyday) watches, which look great both with a sleeveless jacket and jeans, and with a business suit. This model is no exception.
Model Options
The watch has several options in size - this is a case diameter of 40 and 42 mm. Plus, there are different options for colors and materials of the strap-bracelet.

In my review, there will be a version with a case diameter of 40 mm and, in my opinion, the most successful model in terms of colors and strap options.
Equipment
Immediately I suggest to start with unpacking. The watch comes in a large, wooden case, which immediately hints that the inside of the watch is quite expensive.
Here I will immediately make a footnote that the box when buying in the online store may differ. If this is important for you, specify the information what it will be.
In addition to the box, you will find a classic, thick Longines booklet and a 2-year international warranty card.
Watch design
Our model looks simply fascinating. This is just the type of design that cannot be confused with anything. In the Master Collection series, there are watches that are rather dull in my opinion, but this is definitely not about our model.
The watch case is made of stainless steel. It is fully polished. The quality of the finish is superb. I am reflected in the clock as in a mirror.
Decent thickness and reasons
Immediately I want to focus on the case thickness of 14.3 mm. For the size of the watch, this is a rather high case, but this is due to the fact that the mechanism here is not at all small. Therefore, such a move on the part of Longines is rather forced.
Minor flaws
Of the minor shortcomings, I also note the uncomfortable crown, which, with its small size, is not comfortable to wind even with my small fingers.
On the other hand, in this watch, it was still worth observing the canons of design, into which a large crown would hardly fit purely aesthetically.
Dimensions
The watch has a case diameter of 40 mm, the distance from lug to lug - 46.5 mm, thickness - 14.3 mm, strap width at the case - 21 mm, weight - 95 grams.

On my wrist, 18 cm in girth, the watch sits chic. The fit is very comfortable, which is also affected by the short lugs of the case.
But it should be borne in mind that with a more massive brush, it is still better to consider a version with a case diameter of 42 mm.
Back cover
The back of the watch, like the front glass, is made of scratch-resistant sapphire. You can see how close the movement is to the glass, and the absence of any air that would make it possible to reduce the thickness of this watch.
So to reiterate, Longines with the thickness of the current movement did their best to make the watch as thin as possible.
Mechanism
YOU can see the beautifully crafted engraved rotor in caliber L687.5, which is essentially a modified version of the famous ETA Valjeux caliber 7751 movement.
This mechanism on 25 stones has a power reserve of 66 hours, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, is resistant to magnetic fields and has an average error of plus or minus 3-5 seconds. per day.
Usually, the Longines mechanisms have an error better than the declared one.
Of the features of the mechanism, I want to note the column wheel, which has a deep, blue color, obtained due to the very high tempering temperature.
Clock face
Using the same technology, the blued hour, minute, second hands of the chronograph were obtained, and dial date hand.
The main part of the dial is gilded with Longines signature texture and has an expensive silver color.
The watch marks are marked with Arabic numerals, applied with paint, and made with the Master Collection branded shift.
The extreme part of the main dial has a date marking, which you can read using a month-shaped hand.
Adjustment takes place in the first position of the crown counterclockwise.
Clockwise sets the phase of the moon in the lower, small dial.
In the extreme, second position of the crown, the main time is set. Rotate the head counterclockwise.
Switching the head itself is quite hard and confident.
In the upper, small dial, you can see two windows for the days of the week and months.
Months are switched when the 31st day is passed by the date hand in the 1st position of the crown.
The days of the week are switched by a small button recessed into the upper side of the case.
It is convenient to switch with an object such as a pen. But do not forget that you cannot switch the days of the week manually when the main time is between 9 pm and 3 am. During this period, the automatic changeover of the day of the week starts and if you interfere with the manual changeover, you can damage the mechanism.
It is very convenient to recognize the first or second half of the day with the help of the left, small dial, in which there is a 24-hour marking and in which the main, second hand of the watch floats.
At the 3 o'clock position, you can see the neat and concise print of the Longines brand.
The dial of this watch is an excellent example of how, with great functionality, to make it expensive, harmonious and not overloaded as much as possible.
A slightly convex sapphire crystal closes the dial, and the water resistance of our watches is 30 meters, which is quite a classic figure for watches in this style. You can safely wash your hands and not be afraid of rain. But not more.
Strap
The strap of this wonderful model is made of genuine alligator leather on the outside, stitched with a thin layer of calfskin on the inside.
The quality of the belt is excellent, plus a good impression was complemented by a high-quality butterfly clasp. Which not only looks good, but is also very comfortable.
Results
The price of this model for today in our store and in the network of our partners Deca is 158760 UAH, which is equivalent to $3900.
And if in many Longines watches, at their price, the emphasis is on an old and respected brand, cool quality and expensive appearance, then in this model I want to once again focus on a very complex mechanism, which in watches for such a price is more an exception than a rule. .
