Maurice Lacroix quartz watch

Friends, hello everyone. You are on the channel about Feeltime watches, Stanislav is with you, as always, and today, for the first time in a long time, we will look at what the Swiss Maurice Lacroix from the most popular collection of the Aikon brand are currently ready to please us with.

Moreover, I will be filming a review not on some top-end, mechanical version, but on a more down-to-earth, folk version with quartz on board.

During the review, I will try not to just talk dryly about the watch and its characteristics, but also give you options to choose from and mention those with whom this watch can compete today.

Let's start with the packaging. Since last year, Maurice Lacroix began flirting with plastic cases, releasing supposedly eco-friendly watches made from recycled ocean waste.

There was some hate. Conventionally, plastic Aikons are approaching the $1000 price mark. Of course, someone starts to tear in one place. Like, are you even confused about producing plastic watches for that kind of money?

But the market is the market. And he reacted well. These plastic, tacky watches are selling great. Maurice Lacroix is constantly adding them to his assortment.

You just need to understand that the Maurice Lacroix brand itself is not Casio. The second, with rare exceptions, makes inexpensive, plastic watches. Maurice Lacroix is, as it were, higher up the ladder of status. And the watch, conditionally, cannot cost like a Casio. The same thing with the same Brightling Endurance. They are somewhat similar to Luminox, but may not cost the same. The brand is much higher class.

So, after the clock came new boxes made from recycled waste.

On the back of the lid it literally says that the box is made from 34 recycled plastic bottles.

No pretentious documentation. A meager card and a compartment with a bag I don’t understand.

Of course I think it's good. Yes, some will say that this is savings. Economically, this is a truly profitable model. But you can think differently. The guys are participating in saving the world. And now is the time, because we’ve gotten really fucked up. And these pretentious boxes... Who needs them anyway? To whom should we boast of them? In general, I support it. And you decide for yourself.

Well, now let's get to the model itself.

I won’t even take pictures of the evergreen dials for you. You'll soon throw tomatoes at me for this.

In fact, these watches came in 3 color options, which arrived in stores in Ukraine.

Green, black and silver dial colors with gold accents on the case and bracelet.

You can buy each version in my Feeltime online store. I will announce the details at the end of the video.

The model is positioned as unisex. So let's immediately touch on its dimensions.

Diameter - 40 mm, from lug to lug - 46 mm, thickness - 9 mm, which, by the way, is a very pleasant indicator and weight - 152 grams.

You know, with such a small size, and despite the fact that Maurice Lacroix positions this watch as unisex, for me on my small hand it is 18 cm. It feels large in girth.

It seems to me that I'm just not used to this style. I like watches to fit snugly on my wrist, and this one is usually worn so that it dangles freely on the wrist, if you know what I mean.

Based on the design itself, I won’t rant that Maurice Lacroix caught the wave of hype for watches with integrated bracelets.

Didn't pick it up. We picked up the Tissot PRX, we picked up the new Epos Sportive, we picked up the new Certina DS-7. Still, Maurice Lacroix “Eikon” is a fairly old collection, and they have been sticking to this style for a long time.

Therefore, we can say that they simply successfully flew into the stream. Although this is more likely not a stream, but a whirlpool.

I like the Aikon collection. It’s unlikely that I would ever wear such a watch, but purely in appearance and in terms of the quality of its manufacture, I give the brand its due.

316l stainless steel case and bracelet. The body is angular, but at the same time I don’t feel any brutality. On the contrary, the shapes are quite soft and elegant.

The case is almost completely satin-finished. There are transitions of mirror polishing on the surfaces and on the convex elements of the welt, which gives a good feeling of volume.

In terms of quality and finish, to be honest, the Swiss can hardly be better in this price segment.

The crown is comfortable. No protective overlays. Screwed down for better sealing, and the model's water resistance is 100 meters. So you can swim in the sea or ocean without any problems.

Back cover with screws. The simplicity of the engraving of the brand and characteristics does not bother me at all. Looks very good.

We see that the bracelet has a quick replacement system. This is also a big plus.

The bracelet seems to be of good quality at first glance. I have a completely new watch in film for review, I don’t want to take it off, so I’ll just take off a part for a visual understanding.

The links look nice in a combination of satin finish and mirror polished stripes along the edges.

Butterfly clasp. Hides the fastening mechanism and creates a visual, holistic effect of the bracelet.

Let's say a few words about the characteristics.

  • Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
  • Water protection - 100 meters.
  • Inside is a Swiss quartz movement. Which one, God himself and Maurice Lacroix know.

The mechanism is not listed on the official website.

Now, of course, those who are used to buying watches for $200-300 and evaluating them only by the quality of finishing and characteristics will scream: “Ahh.. There’s probably a Ronda 515 for $30. Got you, you bastards."

Well, you just choose watches one at a time, but for some people the design, the brand are more important and they don’t care about the mechanism. The main thing is that it is reliable and does not cause problems.

Actually, Maurice Lacroix, they understand who their buyer is and they understand that they need to put pressure on a different point than they usually put pressure on when selling the same microbrands. I know that for sure))

The dial is cool. Honestly, it looks completely different than in stock photos.

The color is very pleasant and has a cool, expensive shimmer at different viewing angles.

Everything is so concise and thought out.

Elegant hands, even more elegant hour markers. Neat, applied brand logo. The date is not at all annoying at 3 o'clock.

Class. I really got high.

Let's talk a little about the competitors. And let's start with the price. Today it is 47,920 UAH in Ukrainian stores, including my Feeltime store.

“Wow,” you say. “Why are you confused about asking $1,200 for quartz?”

Well, let's look at the alternatives.

Quartz Tissot PRX. Roughly speaking, the same characteristics, but 3 times cheaper.

Certina DS-7. The dimensions are the same, but there is already a much more serious Powermatic 80 mechanics on board with a power reserve of 80 hours.

New Epos Sportive. Another $400 more expensive. The diameter is slightly larger and the mechanism is also self-winding ETA 2824.

To be honest, I still removed Sertina from the comparison. Still, they look a little different.

I would probably compare Epos Sportive with the more expensive Maurice Lacroix Aikon manual, which is 2 times more expensive than our model.

But the Tissot PRX is right on the bull's eye.

It seems to be the same, but 3 times cheaper.

What can I say. The Tissot PRX is well made, but still inferior to this watch in details. Of course not 3 times. God forbid. And not in 2. But in detail, I repeat, it’s definitely simpler.

Well, Tissot PRX is simply purged according to the brand level. Well, Maurice is a step higher. More status. You have to pay for this.

But in general, if you want something similar at a cheaper price, then the Tissot PRX is a real heather option.

In general, I want to say that I like our model. I don’t have the feeling that the brand is being impudent in any way. Here it’s like the guy is in charge of the market. The quality is excellent, there is a name, there is a brand. It can't come cheap. Cheap in other places.

You can buy this watch in my Feeltime online store with an official 2-year warranty. You can pay in installments from private and mono without overpayments for up to 6 months.

You can also bring it to the store by order in large cities of Ukraine. Come, try on and pay there. For details, write to my personal cart . I'll leave it in the description.

What do you think? Did you offend anyone? Didn't catch anyone? I'm waiting for your feedback in the comments. Don't forget to subscribe and like. And that’s all for me, Stanislav was with you as always. Until next time. Bye
