New 2022 from Spinnaker Hass

Friends, hello everyone, Stanislav, Feeltime online store is with you and today we will consider the long-awaited new product Spinnaker Hass.  

I wasn't expecting her. The watch is not quite in my style, but there were really a lot of requests for it. Therefore, it remains to be grateful that we managed to pull out this novelty, since not all Spinnaker limited editions   I manage to order.  

Watch Spinnaker Hass

Yes, in the review we have 2 colors, one of which is reserved and leaves today for a new owner. Each of these models is produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces, has its own number in the form of an engraving on the back of the watch, on the box and on the card that I will show when unpacking.

Interestingly, Spinnaker did not divide the models into 500 pieces for each color. Rather, they did it, but behind the scenes. There are really 500 pieces of each color, but, conditionally, the first 500 pieces out of 1000 are considered one color, and the second 500 pieces - another. Just so you don't get confused when you see, for example, a number: "0000 out of 1000".

History of the Spinnaker Hass

The Spinnaker Hass model got its name in honor of the Austrian scientist, biologist, zoologist, professional diver Hans Mass. During his long life of 94, Hans made a significant contribution to the development of diving and the study of the ocean in general, for which he received more than one award during his lifetime.

Equipment and idea

On the box itself, we see the inscription "marine conservation society". This is a British organization whose mission is to protect the ocean from plastic pollution.  

It was in cooperation with this organization that the model was created. Spinnaker, like many watch brands today, is trying to make its contribution to cleaning up the planet. And that's good, of course.

On the outer box there is a serial number of our watch.

Inside we will find a bouquet from the "marine conservation society" in which they raise the problem of annual plastic pollution of the oceans and give clear and understandable recommendations on how we can personally influence to improve this situation.

Next, we see a slot for the watch itself and a side plate with the characteristics of the model. Personally, I like that the brand wrote it down. There is no need to dig anywhere, look for information. We will personally check the dimensions a little later.  

And there is a hidden box in which you will find an additional NATO strap. In each model in the color of the dial. By the way, it is made of recycled materials and feels very cool to the touch. Soft, pleasant. Yes, the hardware is top notch. High-quality staples and clasp with brand engraving.

And the brand also took care of the purchase and added a tool for replacing the strap in the kit.  

In general, the set is quite rich and I definitely liked it.

Design

As for the watch itself, the design is quite memorable, although the forms are quite standard. But even at a distance I can clearly understand that this is Spinnaker Hass. And this is definitely good.

The case has a nearly 100% satin finish with a mirror finish on the transitions on the sides and top for more volume. Finish quality is good.  

The edges are all well done. Smooth, nothing sharp.

Watch sizes

Let's check the dimensions in person. The diameter is clear - 43 mm, from ear to ear - 50.5 mm, the width of the bracelet is 22 mm at the case and 18 mm at the clasp. Weight - 196 grams.

Almost the same size as advertised. I also can not always perfectly grab the tool.  

Watch on my hand

On my hand, 18 cm in girth, the watch sits like a glove. The bracelet clearly goes down, no gaps. They look very nice. The only thing that may seem a little high to someone, but these are divers with a water resistance of 300 meters. Worth considering.  

Bezel Features

The bezel on the watch is very unusual. Firstly, it does not have any inserts and is made of stainless steel, so that the case looks more solid. Secondly, it has a countdown scale, which is the first time I see it in a watch.

How does a regular bezel work? We put its zero mark opposite the current position of the minute hand and start counting. And the first bezel strip is responsible for such a countdown. But the second, with the inscription "Countdown" speaks for itself. That is, we do the same thing with the bezel, only now we are conducting, respectively, a “reverse count”, and not counting time from zero.  

The bezel itself is well made. The only thing I didn't like was the grip. Glides hard. It is difficult for me to turn it with my fingers, I have to rotate it like this.

And in the gray version, I really liked that the bezel was made darker, and then I just noticed that the color of the markup matches the color palette of the dial. These are such trifles that you can not immediately notice, but they play their role well.

The watch faces are beautiful. I definitely liked blue better. And this is such a cool gradient from lighter blue to deep, on the verge of black.  

The dial itself is quite deep, as if it is in the pool. The date backing is made to match the dial. And it's the same attention to detail.  

Readability is top notch.  

In the gray dial, everything is much less flashy. I would even say that the dial is quite cold. The color is definitely not for everyone. What I lacked was a brighter logo, in the blue version it is clear, here you also need to look closely.  

But to be honest, it’s not a fact that I wouldn’t say “fe” if it were singled out. Still, the designers in the company are not fools.  

The quality of the bracelet and clasp

The bracelet is of very good quality. Fully cast. The finish is more satin, but there are stripes of polish on the central links, which again gives more volume.

Good quality clasp. Cast, but still the guys will not get away from these tabs. Well, it’s not the most pleasant thing to pry with nails, especially tongues that are tight from the start. I want the usual crackers.

There is additional adjustment on the side holes and there is a diving extension, which of course is a nice bonus.

Watch back

Spinnaker is not a master of expensive engravings, but they have already done very well here. There is also an engraving of the name of the organization with which they work and a limited number is engraved. As a watch owner, I would be extremely pleased.

• Sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating, Swiss super luminova on the hands and hour markers and water resistance of 300 meters, as befits a diving watch.  

Results

Well, friends. Results time. Today, these watches in our store cost 14350 UAH. Having disassembled this watch, its complete set, history, limited edition, I have a feeling that this is a very affordable price tag. Objectively. And that's putting it mildly.
