Hello everyone, Stanislav is with you. Today we will talk about the newest model from the Hull collection from the Spinnaker brand. In this line today there are watches in pillow-shaped cases and watches with echoes of the luxury Panerai style, but only in more compact cases.

This model is available in 2 colors. In a classic black dial with a matte gray bezel ( Spinnaker Hull Deep Gray SP-5088-11 )

and a variant with a blue dial and grey-blue bezel ( Spinnaker Hull Liberty Blue SP-5088-22 ). In the review, I will consider the first option in detail, and at the end I will definitely show the dials of both models in detail and measure them on my own hand.

To be honest, I have always been cold to watches with square cases, but after I had more than one Spinnaker Hull in my hands, I really liked it. This is really unusual and there is definitely something in it.

Case and bracelet quality

The case and bracelet of the model are made of 316l stainless steel. The body has a satin finish on the top and a mirror finish on the sides. The quality of the finish, especially the mirror finish, is excellent. The side surfaces reflect like a mirror, which is a confirmation of this.

The shape of the case is quite complex, there are protective ridges on the crown that protect it from being hit by foreign objects and a high bezel for 120 clicks. The bezel has a comfortable grip, a pleasant pull and solid clicks. There is no backlash here. There is also a matte insert on the bezel, and I think that this is correct, since such a shade does not distract attention from the dial.

The bezel measures 41.6 mm, lug to lug 51 mm, thickness 14 mm and weight 208 grams. Quite noticeable for its size. For me, this is definitely a plus!

The watch also has a very nice bracelet. It is heavy, flexible, has a good geometry and a very good quality finish. Complementing the pleasant impressions is a fully molded clasp with additional adjustment on the side holes.

Finally, Spinnaker heard the requests of their customers and began to make engraved caps. Yes, so far everything is quite simple, but it is already much better than just admiring the standard Seiko nh35a movement. And there is nothing to admire.

Characteristics of the Spinnaker Hull watch

And since we are talking about the mechanism, then on board, as I said above, the Japanese Seiko NH35A. Almost all microbrands install this mechanism today without exception. It is reliable, not expensive, easy to maintain. 42 hours power reserve, stop-second and manual winding.

Other watch features:

• This is an anti-reflective sapphire. The glass is slightly convex. Readability is excellent
• This is professional water protection at the level of 300 meters. The head is screwed down for better tightness of the case
• And this is the Swiss Super Luminova, which stores energy and glows brightly in the dark.

In general, as microbrands have long been accustomed to, characteristics were poured with a slide. You should not expect such abundance from more popular brands.

The watch on my wrist is 18 cm in girth and sits like a glove. The case perfectly envelops the brush, the bracelet immediately goes down. In general, according to my feelings on a wrist from 17 cm in girth, it will look great!

As a result, I want to say that if you like this style, then the model can be safely considered for purchase. It has a good design, excellent quality for its price, which, by the way, today we have at the level of $ 400, and adult characteristics.

Many say that for this price you can buy purebred Japanese or Swiss. It is possible, but the quality of these watches will be incomparable. And here it is worth understanding whether you are ready to give this money for the same Japanese, and be content with worse quality and lower characteristics. Or take a less popular brand, but with all the possible goodies. And for me, the main feature is just that these watches are not mass-produced, and the fact that they are produced in small editions already makes them unique and sets you apart from the crowd. Here the choice is yours.
