New items from the microbrand Spinnaker 2024
Friends, hello everyone, you are on the channel about Feeltime watches, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will look at 3 new items from the Spinnaker brand at once.
I will emphasize that 2 of the models shown will be literally new, and one is simply in a color that has never been in my store.
Spinnaker Bradner Military Green SP-5062-04
This is where we will start, as a starting point.
This is the good old Spinnaker Bradner model in the style of the “Super Compressor” watch, when the bezel is under the glass and is adjusted by a separate button on the side of the case.
The version with a black case and a dark green dial arrived at my Feeltime store for the first time.
In general, there are different versions of this model. Including a bracelet with grains of rice.
Still, color greatly affects the feel of the watch. I would say that for me they are military. Although essentially these are everyday retro divers.
The case is large, but the watch fits perfectly on my small hand of 18 cm in girth.
The dimensions are stated to be 42 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 15 mm, weight - 96 grams.
316l stainless steel case with black PVD coating. The finish is completely satin. I like the quality of the finish.
The buttons are mirror polished, which gives more volume.
The back cover is without spraying, which looks just as good.
Through the transparent glass we can see the Japanese Seiko NH35A movement expected for such a price. It has a 42-hour power reserve, a STOP second, manual winding, and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
The error according to the passport is 20-40 seconds per day. But in reality it is usually always much better. In fact, it is an absolutely problem-free and easy-to-maintain mechanism that always has the right parts.
According to the characteristics - domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating, which is a continuation of the welt, water resistance - 180 meters. The bottom button is screwed down for a better seal. You can dive in the watch.
Strap made of genuine leather. It is embossed on the reverse side indicating that the leather is water resistant.
The color is greenish. Goes great with the dial. I also like the workmanship.
And of course, let's look at the dial.
It looks very cool and voluminous.
The main plate is in a soft green color. The hour markers are applied, as is the Spinnkaer logo. The date at 3 o'clock is on a black background, so as not to distract attention.
The minute markings on the silver plate rise slightly above the main plate, followed by a 3D bezel.
Brutal arrows. Second with orange accent.
The price in my Feeltime online store in Ukraine today is 13,500 UAH.
Honestly speaking, for a very budget price, a very well made watch.
They look great and are well made. The characteristics are excellent. They definitely give more emotionally than they cost.
Spinnaker Hull Limited Edition TWILIGHT PEARL SP-5106-44
The next model we have is just a new item from the Spinnaker Hull collection, released in a limited edition of 300 watches in the world.
And here I would like to start with packaging and packaging, since Spinnaker Limits make individual boxes.
The outer part is such a bright, I would say marine packaging, and inside we will find a box in a combination of black, dark blue and a bright color inside.
The documents include detailed instructions, a warranty card and a certificate with the serial number of your particular limit card.
You know, I don’t really like mother-of-pearl dials, but this model looks really cool.
It shimmers very beautifully, to be honest, you don’t want to take your eyes off it. Of course, the photographs of this watch do not emphasize how great the dial looks in reality.
The model itself, in terms of design, is absolutely no different from previous generations of Spinnaker Hull. The only difference is the color of the dial.
On the other hand, it’s also nice. The price of the watch is the same as the old, non-limited version, but at the same time it is a limited edition, and the packaging will be brighter. If Spinnaker were asking for extra money for this, then of course there would be questions. And so... I think it's great..
I really like how the 316l stainless steel watch case is geometrically constructed. Retro pillow shape. The body is quite complex.
Mirror polished sides. Moreover, the quality is such that I am reflected in the surface as in a mirror.
Top part with satin finish. I also like the quality of the finish.
The head is comfortable, with protective ridges. With PVD coating in gold. As are some parts of the bezel.
I'm not a fan of yellow gold, but in this model it looks harmonious.
Bezel with blue ceramic insert. I would say the bezel is perfect.
The finish around the edges is excellent. No hint of spice. The grip is extremely comfortable. Rotate 120 clicks counterclockwise. And the bezel rotates very confidently.
No backlash. Really cool done.
The back cover of the watch has a shallow but pleasant engraving of the brand, collection, characteristics and limited model number.
What do we have in terms of characteristics:
- Slightly domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal
- Water protection - 300 meters. The crown can be screwed down and the watch can be used for diving.
- On board is a Japanese mechanical automatic Seiko NH35A. Actually, its characteristics were announced in the previous watch.
The dimensions are stated to be 43 mm in diameter, 51 mm from lug to lug, 14 mm thick, and the watch is quite heavy. On a full bracelet - 216 grams.
I would say it doesn't feel like a 43mm watch. Either this effect is due to the pillow-shaped case, or the lugs immediately bend and the watch softly envelops the hand, but on my small hand of 18 cm. The girth of the watch does not fit exactly like a 43 mm watch. At least that's how I feel.
And that's great.
I really liked the bracelet.
It is thick, but the geometry is excellent. Nothing sticks or clings anywhere.
The top is satin-finished, the sides are mirror polished. Similar to a watch case.
Pleasant rustling, no extra play. I really liked it.
I would really like a clapper-type clasp, but it is what it is.
This is the old type of clasp with a tongue. The outer part is stamped, the inside is cast.
There is slight micro-adjustment for arm length and diver extension. And thanks for that.
And of course the dial.
The selection of colors is gorgeous. I already mentioned that the mother of pearl itself looks simply amazing.
It's complemented nicely by gold accents on the hands, hour markers and the applied Spinnaker logo.
Appliques and hour markers, which gives a feeling of excellent volume.
Date at 3 o'clock. Again, it doesn't distract attention.
The minute markings in the shape of a railroad were also carefully placed along the edge of the dial.
And of course let's watch the lum.
The dial is gorgeous. Just 5 with two pluses. Moreover, I liked it as a person who does not like mother-of-pearl.
The price today in my Feeltime online store is 18,250 UAH.
Considering that the old versions cost the same, considering that this is a limited edition, considering its design, quality and characteristics, this is a chic option.
In this budget, any well-known Swiss and Japanese watches will definitely lose greatly to these watches.
Let's move on to the latest Spinnaker from the Fleuss collection.
Spinnaker Fleuss SEVERN EDITION WET SUIT BLACK SP-5118-11
And for me this model is the most interesting today, since for a very long time there was no watch from this collection on a bracelet.
The most popular versions of this series are usually on leather straps.
The equipment here is the richest of all that I showed today.
Large, beautiful, gift box.
Inside you will find a warranty card and detailed instructions.
What’s also nice is that the watch will come with an additional genuine leather strap, with a complete tool for changing it (including additional pins).
Let's start with the basics. And these are the good old Spinnaker Fleuss, which are somewhat similar to the luxury Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms. Only Spinnaker has long reworked this design to suit its own.
The body has not changed at all in terms of shape and geometry. This is an everyday retro diver.
But what really changes the perception of this watch is the partially skeletonized dial.
Moreover, the decision is quite bold. Making a skeleton for an inexpensive mechanism.
By the way, the caliber is not indicated on the official website, but I am almost sure that this is the same Seiko NH35A.
Please note that the disk with the date is also in front of you. It looks cool when switching the date itself.
The trick is that it would seem that in a watch with a mechanism that is not advantageous to show as a skeleton, they made a quite cool design. But we’ll talk about the dial later and see.
Watch case and bracelet made of 316l stainless steel. The sides and top of the lugs are satin-finished. Between these surfaces there is a strip of mirror polish.
There is also mirror polishing on the sides of the bezel and on the crown. Again, this gives visually good volume.
The quality of the finish is excellent for this price.
The head is large and comfortable. Screwed into the body. The water resistance of the watch is 150 meters.
I liked the bezel in this model.
It seems to me that they worked on it. In previous versions it was too tight and slipped between the fingers.
And now they’ve made it softer, so it’s much more convenient to rotate. Very confident move and clicks. There are no backlashes.
And the color of the bezel itself is cool. From 0 to 15 minutes the color is gray, and then pitchy black.
On the back of the watch there is an engraving of the brand, a beautiful font from the Fleuss collection and the characteristics that I have already mentioned, except for sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
The watch is of decent size.
Diameter - 43 mm, from lug to lug - 51 mm, Thickness - 12.3 mm, weight - 183 grams.
And now they seem to be identical in size to the previous watches, but on my hand they are 18 cm. Feels larger in girth. Either it's the color or the straighter ears. But in reality this is exactly the case.
The bracelet is of good quality. Quite thick links. For this size, good geometry.
The main links are in the form of rods, inside there is a cylindrical link with complex edges. The main finish is satin, and the accents are mirror polished, which again gives good volume.
The clasp is absolutely similar to the previous model, so we won’t waste time on it.
Black genuine leather strap. Looks nice. Made well. As a bonus - generally excellent.
And of course we look at the dial.
The main plate is just a transparent skeleton, where part of the mechanism and the date disc are visible. All this is covered either with glass or plastic, since it is clear that the logo is an invoice and it is fixed to something.
We can say that this is a kind of protection.
Along the edge of the dial rises a brutal plaque with no less brutal minute and hour markings. This gave good readability.
There are red accents. For example, we highlighted the date aperture and the tip of the second hand.
And let's look at the Swiss Super Luminova.
I don’t know about you, but I liked the dial. Usually skeletons are hard to read, but here they are really good.
At the price today 16170 UAH.
Versions with leather straps are not much cheaper than this model. And here is a fresh new product, on a bracelet, with an additional belt.
It looks and is well made in itself. Excellent characteristics.
In short, everything that usually makes a good microbrand happy.
