Friends, hello everyone. You are on the channel about Feeltime watches and today I will show you the latest version of Citizen watches from the good old Promaster collection.
If you follow the channel, then remember that last year I filmed a review of the previous generation, and I liked this watch so much that I ended up buying it for my small collection.
After more than half a year of a personal test drive, I want to note that this is an excellent watch, despite all its shortcomings, which I saw at the very beginning before buying.
Accordingly, in this review, we will see where Citizen stepped with the new model and what are the differences from the previous generation.
Dimensions
It is immediately clear that the body of the novelty has become a little larger. My tool showed a diameter of 43.5mm when the previous version had a diameter of 41mm. From ear to ear - 48.6 mm, against 47.5 mm in the previous version.
But the thickness was reduced, which for many will definitely be a plus. In the new watch it is 11 mm, in the old version it is 12 mm.
Weight - 96 grams.
As a result, it turned out that the watch became a little wider, thinner, and due to the rather short lugs on my hand 18 cm. They still sit very cool in girth.
The hull finish has changed. If on my watch it is almost completely mirror polished, then in the new model it is 99% satin finish.
I found mirror polishing only on the teeth of the bezel, on the crown and on the edging of the back cover.
I want to note that the quality of finishing of this watch is on top. And in general, I want to say that Citizen in this regard are great fellows. Watches with such a price have a very decent quality. The same Orient in this regard greatly relaxed.
I can’t show you the back of my watch right now, but I like it much less than what I saw in the new model. Here is a very nice satin finish with sandblasting of Citizen's signature planet.
The bezel has a great grip and a green aluminum insert to match the dial. By the way, today it is fashionable to hope that ceramics should be in the watch, but I want to show you the state of the bezel on my watch after half a year of wearing it. The condition is perfect as you can see. Therefore, ceramics is certainly good, but not a panacea!
Worked on bugs
The good thing is that they fixed the moment of noticeable backlash in comparison with the previous version. On my watch, the bezel decently plays, which did not stop me from buying. In the new model, everything is much more confident.
Head location
The head was moved from the left side to the right. For some this will be a plus, for others a minus. I'm used to the left side and I'm so comfortable.
Clock face
The watch dial is made in the best traditions of the Promaster collection. In general, it differs from the old version in some small things. Very large, brutal hands, hour markers with a mirror-polished edging, beautiful green color of the main plate of the dial, an inclined scale of detailed minute markings. Everything looks very harmonious, and most importantly - perfectly readable.
Plus, Citizen's branded, royal luminescent adds to the readability treasury.
Strap
The quality of the strap in the new version has not changed at all from the previous one. Signature waves at the junction with the body, many holes for the hand to breathe.
My watch originally had exactly the same strap, but the watch was customized with a NATO strap. You can repeat the same with your watch. The view changes drastically. And this is a huge plus.
Mechanism and other characteristics
As you can see, mechanics is installed in my model, quartz is in the novelty.
Considering that this is a professional diving model with a water resistance of 200 meters and it was originally designed for activities, I will note that quartz will be more practical. Firstly, it is many times more accurate, when my model, for example, does not differ in accuracy at all, and secondly, it is the proprietary Eco-Drive technology. That is, the watch runs on a solar battery, which will last you about 10-12 years.
That is, in terms of practicality, quartz will definitely be better. My mechanics are not very accurate. This, of course, can be corrected in the workshop, but all this is an extra hassle.
Of the unnamed characteristics, only mineral glass with an anti-reflective coating was not noted.

What are the pluses?
Iconic design, nice size, cool quality case finish, comfortable bezel, chic, well-read dial, comfortable and high-quality strap, plus the ability to play with straps.
Of course, Eco-Drive technology and professional water resistance of 200 meters.
What are the downsides?
For some, an aluminum bezel, for some, mineral glass, for some, quartz.
Personally, I am in love with this watch, and I think that for my money, this is a great option for a sports watch from a famous Japanese brand. And in this case, I am speaking not just as an observer, but as a person who every day, even now, at -10 degrees, wears this watch and enjoys it.
