Friends, hello everyone. You are on the Feeltime channel, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will be reviewing the new 2022 model from the Swiss brand Certina from the DS-2 collection.
This model came out in 4 variations, which can be viewed on the official website of Certina. Came into my hands, in my opinion, the most interesting version on the combined mesh bracelet.
Also, another version arrived in Ukraine on a blue textile strap made from recycled plastic, which nature protection companies fish out of the oceans.

Model history
In order to better understand what a watch is in front of you, you need to go back to 1968, when this model was first released, so in essence our novelty is a modern reissue of a vintage version of the last century.
The watch is a follower of the DS concept, which stands for Double Security. It was in 1959 that this concept was presented by Philip Kurt. Philippe's work resulted in 200m divers who were able to withstand a 6m drop.
In simple words, such protection was obtained thanks to the softeners of the mechanism, thickened back cover and glass.
Today, Sertina successfully continues to improve Double Security technology, and on this note, I propose to move on to our beauty.
Unpacking and packaging
I suggest you start by unpacking. Certina DS-2 comes in an updated box made from recycled materials. The brand has been involved in environmental protection programs for many years.
Thus, eco-friendly straps on Sertin watches, boxes, and portable cases appear. I strongly support this policy.
And to be honest, the new type of box, despite its simplicity, I like more than the old one. Plus, a portable case can really come in handy in everyday life, unlike a box that just takes up extra space.
Watch design and features
When you pick up the watch, you immediately feel the spirit of vintage. To me, this watch looks amazing. And the more models in this style I get in my hand, the more I feel how much I like this style, and how glad I am that fashion is cyclical.
The watch case is made in the form of a pillow, which is very popular among watch fans. I am in the same camp.
Case and bracelet material - stainless steel. You can see 3 layers of finishes. This is satin in the middle part, mirror polished on the next turn and again satin on the welt.
This combination makes the watch visually more voluminous and expensive. Speaking of finishing, I want to say that it is at the highest level. In mirror polishing, you can literally preen like in a mirror. Clarity is perfect.
The crown is small and engraved with the brand. It is not very convenient due to its small size, but from a design point of view, this is the right move.
The case is topped by a domed sapphire crystal with one-sided anti-reflective coating. This form of glass perfectly emphasizes the vintage spirit of the model.
Powermatic 80 movement
Through the back of the watch, you can admire the modern Swiss movement POWERMATIC 80.611 with a huge power reserve of 80 hours.
This movement runs on 25 jewels, has a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and has an innovative Nivachrone titanium spiral, which is protected from magnetic fields, shocks and temperature changes.
To be honest, I would like the back cover to be closed and have a signature turtle engraving, symbolizing the concept of Double Security. And I can only assume that most likely this is done as part of the economy and the final reduction in the cost of watches.
Watch sizes
The watch sizes indicated on Sertina's official website are as follows. Diameter - 40 mm and thickness 12.65 mm. My instrument confirmed the diameter, from lug to lug I measured 45.6 mm, the thickness of the instrument showed 13.1 mm at the highest point, the width of the bracelet is exactly 20 mm, and the weight is 144 grams.
On my hand 18 cm. In the girth, the watch sits magically. And I personally really like this model. I get great pleasure from it.
Bracelet
A comfortable fit is ensured by a high-quality, combined mesh bracelet. The main part of it is Milanese weaving, and closer to the clasp, these are standard links with a comfortable and pretty butterfly clasp.
I showed you a similar bracelet recently in the updated Certina DS PH200M model. The quality of this bracelet is excellent.
I forgot to mention that the bracelet has a quick change system. It is very comfortable!
Clock face
The dial of the model looks concise and expensive. I want to note right away that the domed sapphire crystal creates a pleasant effect, as if the dial surface itself is convex, although it is flat.
The hands and hour markers are rectangular in shape and contrast beautifully against the black color, so the readability of the watch is 5 plus. Plus, on the thin, inner stripes of these elements, there is the Swiss Super Luminova, which accumulates energy and glows in the dark.
The hour markers are overhead and high, which gives the dial additional volume. Sertina logo and DS-2 concept at the bottom of the dial, also applied.
And I also want to highlight the powerful framing of the date window.
Of all the characteristics, I did not mention one of the most important. Of course, first of all, this is a diving watch with a water resistance of 200 meters. The head is screwed down for better tightness.
Results
The price of this model in our Feeltime store and in the network of our Deka partners is 39000 UAH for the version with a bracelet and 36290 UAH for the version with a strap.
I want to confidently state about Sertina that she is always worth her money as for the Swiss. And this watch is no exception.
They have a cult, recognizable design, the quality of materials and processing is at their best, the dial is expensive and concise, the mechanism is technologically advanced and reliable, the characteristics of the watch are generally excellent.
Moreover, I really like that this is an absolutely universal watch that does not particularly oblige you to a specific dress code and will always be appropriate.
