Phoibos Eagle Ray Compressor vs Spinnaker Bradner

For the first time I got acquainted with the "Compressor" design in watches in the Phoibos Eagle Ray Compressor model. In simple words: If you see 2 crowns on the side of the case, one of which is the crown, and the second (upper) adjusts the inner bezel, this design is called "Compressor". I won't go into history. Today we are not talking about that.

In my reviews, I have repeatedly praised Phoibos Eagle Ray. This is a wonderful watch with super quality finishes and TOP features for its price.

But here comes a new model from the Spinnaker Bradner brand. Compressor, excellent quality of the case and bracelet, the characteristics are not worse than those of Foibos, the price is about the same. "Why not compare?" - I thought.

Phoibos Eagle Ray Compressor:

• Water resistance - 180 meters (only the head is screwed)
• Bracelet - Stainless steel (width 20 mm)

As you can see, we have almost the same dimensions, characteristics and price. What is the difference? And which watch is the best to choose?

Finish:

The Phoibos Eagle Ray slightly outperformed the Spinnaker on this point. Visually softer satin finish, better quality bracelet, better clasp.

Dials:

Absolutely subjective opinion. I prefer the grainy and very voluminous Spinnaker dial, although they look chic on one or the other model.

Water resistance:

Foibos Eagle Ray has a slightly higher water protection in itself, plus both heads are screwed, which is important. The spinnaker is a little weaker. Will it affect your daily life if you don't dive with your watch? No way!

For all other characteristics, the watch is identical and I will not spend time here on this. According to the results of my video review, the Phoibos Eagle Ray Compressor won by 5 points, however, I personally prefer the Spinnaker Bradner just the same for its rougher and overall very good finish, and more aggressive delivery.

There are no better watches here. Both models are good. And you choose the best for yourself!
