Hello everyone, you are on the Feeltime channel, Stanislav is with you and today we will consider 2 models from the Ocean X microbrand from the Sharkmaster V2 collection.

For those who are on the channel for the first time, let me remind you that the Ocean X brand creates homages for Rolex watches. And homage, in turn, is when one brand makes similar watches to another, a luxury brand, while it can change sizes, colors, characteristics, and at the same time release watches under its own sign.

If you, for example, can't afford a Rolex or don't want to pay that kind of money, then a quality homage is a great way out. And Ocean X today is doing very cool, which I still do not get tired of talking about.  

This model is a direct homage to the Rolex Submarine in a classic 40 mm case.  

We will consider 2 body colors at once. Gold and silver. And the difference here is not only in the color of the cases.  

What I didn't like

Let's start with the negative. In the gold version, we see a cyclops magnifier above the date, which, in my opinion, is an absolutely superfluous element of this watch.

The model has a 2.8 mm thick sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The antiglare perfectly fulfills its function, but the cyclops differs in the texture of the glass. Firstly, it seems lighter than the main glass, and secondly, it strongly reflects the surrounding surfaces.  

That is, on the one hand, the date increases quite well, and on the other hand, these reflections distort it.  

In a pack, it looks more like a foreign body and frankly spoiled my impressions of the watch.  

Further there will be rather some pluses. The case and bracelet are made of stainless steel with a PVD gold finish.  

Case quality

As always, the quality of the case is on top. A combination of mirror polish on the sides and satin finish on the top. In the crown, I am generally reflected as in a mirror.

Bezel

Bezel with ceramic insert for 120 clicks. The quality is excellent. The move is tight and confident, there are no backlashes and there is not close.

Watch back

The back cover of the watch is classic for the Ocean X brand. With shark engraving. The lid is the same for both models, so the second one will no longer be shown.

Bracelet quality

Good quality bracelet. Fully cast, links at the clasp with screws. Fastening at the case is confident, a pleasant rustle is present.

Folding clasp with double fixation. Also cast. The gold-plated was not greedy even on the inside.  

Clock face

The watch face is so cool that it even reassured me a little about this cyclops. Cool, glossy surface, high marks that add volume and high cost, all elements are perfectly worked out. Readability is great here.  

Watch sizes

Watch dimensions: Case diameter - 40 mm, ear to ear - 48 mm, thickness - 14.4 mm, bracelet width - 21 mm at the case and 18 mm at the clasp. Weight in gold - 179 grams, in silver - 182 grams.

On my hand 18 cm. They look great. There are no comments here. Still, this is the design of the legendary Subs.

In silver, my eye was especially pleased. I don't like gold though. For an amateur.

And here just let's look at another color. Thank God there is no Cyclops here, which, by the way, is also an amateur element. Otherwise, it would not be used, which is logical.

If in the gold version the glass is flat, then in the silver version it is a little domed, which, in my opinion, gives the watch more charm. The model looks something more streamlined   and voluminous.  

The dial is also slightly different. Here the marks are not so voluminous and high. The volume is just given by the domed sapphire glass.  

Lum royal. This is the Swiss Super Luminova.

The quality of the finish here is similar to that of gold. Everything is on top.  

The only thing is that the bezel is more tight. This is not a drawback, just in the gold version it is softer and more pleasant to handle. The quality is identical.  

Difference in characteristics of sapphire glass

Nearly missed it. In the silver model, the glass is not only more convex, it is also thicker. Sapphire - 4mm, versus 2.8mm for the gold version. This also affected the overall thickness of the hull. Here it is 15.6 mm

General characteristics of the Ocean X Sharkmaster V2 watch

Of the other common characteristics, it is the Japanese self-winding Seiko NH35A, which can be said to be a classic for microbrands. Reliable and unpretentious machine with a power reserve of 42 hours.

And professional water protection - 500 meters. The head is screwed for better tightness of the case. You can safely dive in the watch.

Results

Today, at prices in our store, 16400 UAH for the silver version and 17560 UAH for the gold version.  

Personally, according to my feelings, the version in silver looks more expensive, it’s just that gilding is always more expensive, but for me it just played that I didn’t like it + the Cyclops spoiled the impression.  

If we move away from my subjective considerations, then the models, as always, turned out to be on top. The quality and features are more than worth the price and if you like the Rolex style then for the money you will be more than happy with your purchase!
