A real Swiss certified diver came into my hands today. I think that this is really one of the most popular models from the Swiss Certina in this style.
Let's start with the fact that this is indeed a professional diving watch that has been certified to ISO6425 standards. The water resistance of the watch is 300 meters. The crown is screwed down for better tightness of the case.
The bezel of the watch has an aluminum lining and rotates counterclockwise for 60 clicks. I see some reviewers trying to smooth out the corners of the bezel, but to be honest, I absolutely don't consider the bezel a strong point of this watch.
Firstly, for the cost of this model, one could safely put ceramics, secondly, the bezel has a rather noticeable backlash and this, I think, is also some kind of neglect on the part of the Swiss, and thirdly, from the point of view of convenience, the bezel is so but it doesn’t shine, since the grip is not comfortable and it really slips between the fingers.
In general, the minuses end here and there will only be pluses. I really like the quality of the finish. Here, almost 99% satin finish and quite a bit of mirror polishing on the crown, the very bezel and the back of the watch.
The back cover pleased with a really cool and deep engraving of a sea turtle.
When you take this watch in your hands, you immediately feel that these are divers. They are large and quite heavy. Bezel diameter 42.5 mm. From ear to ear - 51 mm. Thickness - 13 mm. Weight on the full bracelet 199 grams.
I also really liked the bracelet. Here is a cool quality finish, cool geometry. Nothing sticks anywhere, the edges are very well processed on all sides and nothing is cut. And here there are 4 reduced links at the clasp and this is a definite plus when adjusting the bracelet to fit your hand.
A huge plus of the watch is the clasp. This is my favorite "cracker" with chic workmanship. It is molded both inside and out, and there is also a diving extension. And this is a plus not only for divers, since usually in 90% of cases such watches are worn as everyday wear, but simply an element of convenience, when in summer, for example, the hand is sweaty and you need to loosen the watch a little.
It's time to talk about the characteristics and mechanism. On board the model is the popular Powermatic 80 movement, which was developed in 2012 in collaboration with Tissot and ETA. The breakthrough was that the power reserve of such a mechanism is 80 hours, against the standard 36.
I will not go into the details of the mechanism so that you do not get bored. All you need to know is that here it is completely assembled from metal parts, as some versions for cheaper watches of the same Tissot contain a version with plastic elements, which leads many to doubt, although this is not some kind of obvious drawback. .
In addition to the mechanism, the watch has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Anti-glare works great, the readability of the watch is excellent at any viewing angles and lighting.
The hands and hour markers are also coated with Swiss super luminova, which accumulates energy and glows in the dark.
The dial has an expensive, mirrored surface. Beautiful, applied hour markers, the correct length of the hands in the form of swords and a well-defined green second hand. And of course, the cherished inscription “Swiss Made” flaunts at the bottom.
On my wrist, 18 cm in girth, the watch sits like a glove. But it should be borne in mind that the ears are long and less than 17 cm on the wrist - the watch is likely to be too big.
Well, friends, let's take stock!
I love these watches. They are quite versatile and will suit almost any style of clothing, including business. And of course this is a professional tool for those who are really going to dive with them.
Of the shortcomings I see, the watch has only a bezel. Although, I can’t say that this is something critical either. In all other respects, this is an excellent quality finish, a cool bracelet, a cool clasp, a mechanism with a power reserve of 80 hours and a very affordable price for the Swiss, which today is 21,600 UAH in Ukrainian stores.
