In early 2024, Foibos reissued their hit Wave Master collection in smaller 39.5mm cases. I was so excited about this event that my collection was replenished with purple pieces.

And now, at the beginning of autumn, Phoibos announces a new generation of the Wave Master collection. What has changed?

The basic design remains the same. And that's right, because it's better not to reinvent the wheel here. You'll see innovations rather in the details, and these are:

• The ceramic bezel with 120 clicks is already designed for diving. Let me remind you that in the previous version it rotated in both directions and had a second time zone marking.
• This function is no longer available in the new product, and the mechanism has changed accordingly. Each color is available in 2 versions: with and without a date. The versions with a date have a Japanese mechanics with automatic winding Miyota 9015, but the versions without a date have a Miyota 9039. And this is cool for two reasons: firstly, the level of the mechanism has increased with a slight increase in price, and secondly, Foibos did not take the easy way out, when the versions without a date have the same mechanism, in which the date is present, it is simply not displayed on the dial. That is, they paid attention to detail, which is typical of the brand.
• And of course, a new, popular today color of deep blue, starry sky, which is conveyed by the natural stone Aventurine, has appeared. In addition, the new Phoibos has returned its popular mother-of-pearl colors and a dial made of natural abalone shell

And of course, all this cannot but make us happy.

In all other respects, this is, as always, top quality detailing and finishing for its price. The bracelet is firmly and finally supplied with an expensive clasp "clapper" with a really high-quality and convenient diving extension. Plus the bracelet itself has a quick-change system.
