American NTH Devilray watches

Friends, hello everyone. You are on the channel about Feeltime watches, Stanislav is in touch as always, and today we continue to review watches from the American brand NTH.  

My first review of the NTH Barracuda had mostly positive comments. People perceive the brand warmly.

Of course, there were comparisons with San Martin. Previously there were comments: “It’s better to buy Seiko, Orient,” now: “It’s better to buy San Martin.” Well, at least something in our lives is changing.  

Well, for those who want something more impressive, I have prepared this review.

We will consider models from the Devilray collection.  

And according to the classics, let's start with unboxing.  

As I said, every NTH watch comes in a custom designed box. That is, the exact watch that you will find inside is depicted on the box.  

The watch itself comes in a cool and convenient travel case.  

Inside you will find the clock itself and additional links. Do not think that someone wore a watch before you and took it off. It’s just that the brand takes care of its customer and puts some in case you need spare ones.  

We will have three colors in the review. There are versions with GMT (second time zone), some without it, and some with and without a date. In this regard, NTH plays with each of its colors. Gives variations to the buyer.

The case and bracelet of the model are made of 316l stainless steel. Iconic pillow shape.  

The case is thought out to the smallest detail. Its side part consists of 3 layers. Bottom and top - satin finish. Mirror polished center stripe. The quality of finishing is at the highest level.

The crown is massive. Slightly recessed into the body. Engraved NTH. Very convenient to operate. Screws on for a good seal.

And the water resistance of the watch is remarkable. 500 meters.  

The bezel is very well made. Let's start with its gradation. There are two lanes. The black one has 12 hour markings, the silver one has 60 minute markings. This is extremely convenient and highlights the design well. Plus the black stripe is a unique DLC coating, which is equivalent in strength to diamond.

The bezel itself is decorated with scales along the edge.  

I started to rotate the bezel and already wanted to point out the disadvantage in that it slips between the fingers, which is not very good for a dive watch.

But then I discovered that the watch case is complex and well thought out. On the sides, part of the bezel seems to go into the case itself, but at the junction with the bracelet it is completely opened. And it is precisely for this place that you need to rotate it. Then everything is very convenient.

The bezel itself has a very confident movement and expensive clicks.

On the back of the watch there is an expensive engraving of a Japanese Mobula stingray. In English, the name of the fish is Devilray. Like the name of a watch collection.

Symbolic... And look how high the quality of finishing is even on the back cover. Usually even inexpensive micro brands save money in this place and the finishing is often missing.

The bracelet is made very cool.

Firstly, an unusual drawing. I've never seen anything like this in a watch before. The side links are satin-finished, the central links are mirror polished.  

The finishing is noble. There are no backlashes or unnecessary sounds anywhere. Even the stilettos look expensive. On ordinary watches, the pins usually stick out like pins, but here I don’t even know how to explain it. You can just see that the shape of the tips is perfect.  

Although I don’t like this type of fastener, NTH made it in such a way that I have zero comments about it. The tongue is adjusted perfectly. Soft closes, soft opens. Holds up well. I gave it to the girl to try, she did not experience discomfort when opening with long nails. But usually such fasteners are death to the nails.  

In general, it was done coolly and thoughtfully.

By size:

Diameter - 43 mm, From lug to lug - 46 mm, Thickness - 15 mm, Weight on a full bracelet is exactly 200 grams.

On my hand it is 18 cm. The girth of the watch fits perfectly. Yes, they are large, but the shape and design of the bracelet is very well thought out. Grips the wrist clearly.

Very beautiful and well thought out dial.

The central part is a delicate blue color. Like clear water in the ocean.  

The outer part is gray and has an interesting upward curve, creating the effect of depth.  

The hour markers are applied and create good volume.  

The ideal length of the arrows and their elaboration. The minute hand is lacquered orange. The tip of the second hand is also highlighted in orange.  

I really like the kind of rainbow on the very top and outer part of the dial. From 0 to 20 minutes these are different colors, and from 20 to 60 it is pure blue. It looks nice.

Well, let's look at the lume, of course.

What are our characteristics?

On board is a Japanese classic from Seiko NH35A. Let me remind you that each NTH mechanism calibrates itself, so instead of the standard accuracy of 20-40 sec. A day turns out to be 10-15 seconds. Per day.  

Water protection is declared - 500 meters. And a slightly domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.  

There is a version with a silver dial and GMT function. The second red hour hand and additional 24-hour markings are displayed.  

I immediately see that the difference here is not only in the GMT function. You can see that there is lume on the bezel. And I haven’t turned off the light yet, but I can already see how poisonous it will shine. This is the best for a dive watch.

And of course the movement has a different caliber Seiko NH34. Just with the GMT function.

Well, let's go with the results.  

The price today in my Feeltime online store ranges from 24,700 UAH for the version without GMT, and 25,650 UAH for the version with GMT.  

And this is, in fact, the most affordable watch from the NTH lineup.

Of course, such a price hurts the ears of those who are used to wearing, or simply observing, inexpensive Chinese microbrands.

But here it’s worth understanding where NTH is aiming and what audience they want to attract.  

The brand's quality is impeccable. This is a chic finish, and the complex geometry of both the case and the bracelet. This is a carefully thought-out watch in which you want to find something to latch on to, but you can’t.

These are the most thoughtful dials. These are high-quality and personalized packaging.  

The characteristics only strengthen NTH's position. Not to mention that the brand additionally calibrates the mechanisms and tests each model for water resistance.  

These watches are not produced in large quantities, the owner does not throw away discounts, making it clear: “If you want a quality watch, pay full price.” And from the watch itself it is clear that there are no gaps for discounts. Since there is no saving on quality.
