Frankly speaking, the German watch market is interesting to me and I plan to gradually open it for myself and for you over time.  

For me, German watches are, first of all, aviator watches. This happened for a reason, because initially the Germans created watches for their military during the Second World War, and then this style simply took root among ordinary citizens.  

Many brands still retain the style of the last century and I highly support this trend.  

Zeppelin is a relatively young brand. It was founded in 1987. The goal was to create affordable, good quality aviator's watches. And this, truly, is the most affordable German watch that comes to my mind.  

And, for me personally, it would be right to meet Germans from this brand.  

I suggest starting with unpacking. This is a nice little box. Small, neat, but extremely budget-friendly.  

From the documentation you will find a booklet with instructions on the brand’s existing calibers of movements and a warranty card.  

The warranty card is made in the form of a real ticket for the Airship from 1930.

Let's go by the clock.  

In general, I want to say that when you approach the stand with Zeppelin watches, they look extremely nice. There are many models that catch the eye.

I also like the brand because they use uncharged mechanisms from the Japanese. Thus, the functionality of the watch can be very interesting.  

This model also has a complication in the form of a power reserve scale, which is located on the left side of the dial.

The watch looks very nice.  

316l stainless steel body. Fully mirror polished.  

The geometry is unusual. Lots of passages and steps on the sides. The quality of the finish is quite good.  

The bezel of the watch smoothly flows into the domed mineral glass. This is a definite saving for me. Still, the watches are not the cheapest, and Zeppelin puts mineral water in almost all of their watches.  

But the shape of the glass is certainly beautiful.  

The head is large and comfortable. The operation is easy.  

The watch back is satin-finished. Through the glass you can see the movement from the Japanese with the Citizen-Miyota caliber 9133. The mechanism has 26 jewels, with a power reserve of 45 hours. Operates at a frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour. The error is 10-30 seconds per day.  

Case dimensions:

Diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 49 mm, thickness - 14 mm, weight - 87 grams.

On my arm 18 cm. The girth fits perfectly. I really like that the ears are short and immediately bend down. This ensures a great fit.  

Strap made of genuine leather. I initially expected worse quality, but in reality it is not bad. Although there are shortcomings.  

Purely visually and tactilely pleasant. It's stitched well with thread, but if you look closely, there are some kinks.

The clasp is extremely simple. For the price of this watch, I think it would be possible to get something more decent.  

In general, I can summarize the strap as follows. Not bad, but it's definitely not expensive leather. The smell also gives away the budget. In fact, good, expensive straps, in my experience, smell nice.  

Well, there is a creaking noise when rubbing with the body. But this will most likely go away when the belt wears out.  

But the dials are definitely a feature of the Zeppelin brand.

Beautiful, deep blue color. The dial plate itself is curved, which is unusual and creates a cool volume.  

Hour markers are applied.  

The brand’s printed logo is neatly placed at the top, the Atlantic collection is indicated at the bottom, and “Made in Germany” is signed even lower.  

The date at 3 o'clock fits perfectly into the style of the dial and does not distract in any way.

There is luminescence on the hands, but it’s so scanty that I won’t even show it.

In terms of other characteristics, the expected water resistance of 50 meters was not announced. This is the norm for this style. You can wash your hands and not be afraid of the rain.

Let's go with the results.  

The price of this model today is 24150 UAH.  

Of course, for this price tag I personally would like more quality.  

What do I mean by this:

Well, firstly, the sapphire crystal, and secondly, the strap is a little more elegant.  

But here it is worth understanding that these are Germans. More famous and charged German brands are significantly more expensive than these watches.  

And Zeppelin's competition in this style can be counted on one hand.  

Therefore, in this case, you pay for style, for Germans and German assembly, and for simply good quality. But not more.
