Despite all my coldness towards the Japanese, in my small watch collection there is one model from past generations of masters. At the same time, there are a lot of shortcomings in those watches. Both in terms of quality and characteristics. Aluminum bezel, mineral glass, case with so-so finish. But at the same time, I once liked the watch so much that I decided to take it for myself.
And this for me was a good example of the fact that watches are chosen not only by finish and characteristics. There are also such things as design and the general feeling of “Like”, “Dislike”.
Let's take a look at what Citizen has offered us with the new Promaster.

I'll put the box down right away. This is a cheap package for transporting watches. There is no other way to call it.
The clock itself has changed somewhat. They have become more angular. It seems to me that the Japanese decided to deviate somewhat from the usual Promaster shapes, which I always recognize from a mile away.
Perhaps the fact that this promaster only gives out a rubber strap with signature waves on the case.
The belt is very soft, very pleasant. A huge number of holes so that your hand sweats less. The only thing is that the clasp is very simple, but it does not spoil the impression of the watch.
The body itself is made of 316l stainless steel. Fully satin. The quality of the finish is nice. For the Japanese, this budget is definitely good.
The head is large and comfortable. Screws on for better sealing.
These are professional divers with a water resistance of 200 meters. The diver is certified and meets ISO6425 standards.
The sides of the bezel are mirror polished and the insert is made of aluminum.
Rotates 60 clicks counterclockwise. It would seem that the bezel was made high, and in theory it should rotate comfortably, but in reality it is not comfortable to rotate. Slips a lot between your fingers. But they got rid of the previous backlashes. I don't feel anything like that in the new model.
The back cover is as simple as possible. I would like some nice engraving, but knowing that these are Japanese, you wouldn’t expect anything else on the spread.
The dimensions of the watch are diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 14 mm, weight - 99 grams.
On my hand it is 18 cm. The girth is very comfortable and true to size.
There are two versions of the dials. One with black and the one in our review with a rolling gradient from blue to black.
I like the grainy texture of the base plate.
The overlay marks give good volume.
From me, comments on the dial to the hour hand in the spirit of Mercedes from Rolex. I'd like to see something more original. Like, for example, a minute hand with a pointer tip.
And it also seems to me that the days of the week and the date on a white background really attract attention. I would remove it. But Citizen decided to do it the way it is.
Of course, the guys, as always, will delight us with any cool
And they won’t please you with mineral glass.
The watch is equipped with Miyota's own caliber 8204 . Power reserve 42 hours. There is a STOP second.

12130 UAH price for today in stores in Ukraine. Roughly speaking, $300.
I have pleasant impressions from the watch. Its own design, good materials. Fits perfectly on the hand.
An aluminum bezel and mineral glass are already costs for the Japanese. You just have to come to terms with this, as I calmly accepted when buying my Promaster.
