Watch Certina DS PH200M C036.407.11.050.01

Friends, hello everyone. You are on the Feeltime channel, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will consider the Swiss Certina DS PH200M.

The watch is a continuation of the vintage 2018 model from the Heritage collection with reference C036.407.11.050.00. And despite the fact that the watches look very similar, the difference in them is quite noticeable. Let's figure it out.

Equipment

Our model comes in a nice Certina box with instructions and a 2-year international warranty card.

Differences from the previous version

The first signs by which I can distinguish the new version is the ceramic, domed bezel 120 clicks anti-clockwise. This shape of the bezel personally reminds me of the luxury Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms.

In the previous version, the bezel was 60 clicks and with an aluminum insert, which is much easier to scratch. Of course, the brand makes reference to the fact that the aluminum bezel conveys the spirit of the first model of this watch in 1967 more, but I believe that this spirit can be conveyed by ceramics.

The grip of the bezel is quite comfortable, the clicks are sharp and for an amateur. What I didn't really like was the noticeable backlash. This is not the first Sertina model in which I see such a flaw.

The next changes affected the glass. In the previous version, this is Hezalit, as in the first hours of 1967.

In the same version, a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is installed. And again, this is a plus, since Hezalit is very prone to scratching.

And of course, one of the most basic changes is the Swiss self-winding mechanical movement with a modern Powermatic 80.111 caliber, with a huge power reserve of 80 hours and with an anti-magnetic Nivachron spring, which is definitely a plus, since the mechanics are still prone to magnetize and lose their accuracy.

This mechanism can be observed through the back of the watch.

Of course, I prefer the closed lid of the previous model with an expensive turtle engraving. But this is an amateur.

watch case

The watch case is made of stainless steel. This model is polished. The quality of finishing from the Sertina brand is always excellent. But, again, comparing the watch with the previous version, there is a satin finish, and, personally, I like it more. Although this is again a matter of taste.

Watch sizes

Of the dimensions, the changes affected only the thickness. From 12.9 mm, the model sank to 11.9 mm. The case diameter is 42.8 mm, lug to lug is 51 mm, the strap width is 20 mm and the weight is 154 grams.

Here it is very important to consider the dimensions from ear to ear. On my hand 18 cm. In girth, the watch feels quite large. And the ears are straight. Therefore, I recommend a wider brush.

Bracelet quality

The bracelet is awesome. This is a Milanese weave with a combination of standard links in the closure area. The clasp itself is a butterfly. She looks good and is very comfortable.

Of the unnamed characteristics of the watch, perhaps I did not name only the professional water protection of 200 meters. The head of the watch is screwed down for better tightness of the case, so you can safely dive in the watch.

Clock face

In general, the texture in comparison with the previous version has not changed. Only the polishing color of the hour and minute hands, which in this model are soft, golden, and the second hand in white, versus the bright red in the previous model.

I really like this retro style, and how it is emphasized by the domed, sapphire crystal.

For good readability in the dark, Swiss Super Luminova is applied to the hands and indexes.

Results

The cost of this beauty in our Feeltime store and in the network of our partners Deca for today is 39460 UAH.

Of course, a comparison with the previous model immediately suggests itself, the price of which is 31750 UAH +, which comes with a nice plastic box and a bonus nylon strap.

Is it worth overpaying almost $200 for a ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal and a more modern movement? I'll leave this question open for your discussion in the comments.

In general, the watch is very sympathetic to me. And some minor flaws such as a backlash bezel absolutely do not spoil my impression of the watch. I understand that if I had a goal to buy them, such nuances would not stop me.

The model itself looks expensive, recognizable, and perfectly conveys the spirit of vintage divers of the 60s.

That's all I have, I hope you found it useful. Thank you for your attention and see you soon.
