A selection of quartz watches

Friends, hello everyone, you are on the Feeltime watch channel, with you as always Stanislav, and today we will have a large selection of quartz watches.

Yes, specifically quartz watches, because lately there have been constant battles between two camps: those who wear quartz and those who love mechanics.

Essentially, the former are practical people who don't want to waste their time on watch factories, want simple and cheap service when needed, and want to look at more accurate time, because quartz is much more accurate than mechanics.

For example, I'm somewhere in the middle. Sometimes I wear my quartz Luminox and I feel good. Sometimes I want a mechanical watch. But then I wear this watch every day and for a certain time so as not to wind it. And I'm not one of those who follows the accuracy of time. My Citizen can be quite late on Sunday, I don't care. I don't pay attention to it.

Someone is calling.

Therefore, when choosing a watch, I would pay more attention to your needs, lifestyle, and whether you like the look of the watch, rather than whether society honors those who wear quartz or mechanical watches more? And if I wear a watch to a meeting, is it better for it to be quartz or mechanical?

There are a bunch of cool quartz watches that you shouldn't be ashamed to wear at least once. There are quite expensive quartz watches. Today we'll look at different options.

And I took for review exactly what I personally like and consider to be of high quality.

Japanese watch Citizen Brycen CA7090-87E

And the first on our review will be the Japanese Citizen from the Super Titanium collection.

I would say that Citizen is more about quartz, in principle. The guys have a few cool features that make these watches stand out.

Many of the models are very technological and functionally packed; the brand often uses its proprietary Eco Drive technology in quartz watches, when the built-in battery is charged by any light source.

The battery in such watches lasts up to 10-12 years. And this model has exactly this technology.

Plus, many watches are made of titanium. And titanium is lighter and more comfortable to wear than stainless steel.

That is, the Citizen brand has positioned itself from the very beginning as a brand for an active and comfortable lifestyle. WITHOUT MECHANICS. Of course, there are mechanical models, but that is probably only to reach a larger audience.

And our handsome guy is really very light and comfortable, despite its size.

Diameter - 43 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 11 mm, weight on the full bracelet is 97 grams.

But even on my small hand, 18 cm in circumference, the watch fits quite well.

It has a rather specific design. It's a sort of barrel with a matte finish, but there's a strip of mirror polish on the rim and between the surfaces, which gives the watch more volume.

The buttons are quite ergonomic. They click when pressed, which means it is clear that the function is running. This is good.

The only thing is that the crown is uncomfortable. I had to strain my hand to get into the date position to change it.

In general, I like the quality of the case. As well as the bracelet. You can see that there is a rather non-standard fastening here. That is, only the native bracelet, or a custom strap sewn for this watch, will do. But, I think, it is unnecessary.

The bracelet is cast, with good geometry. The clasp is quite simple, stamped, but it visually suits this watch, plus such a clasp is much lighter than a cast one, and a titanium watch should still be light.

According to the characteristics, we have Sapphire glass, water resistance 100 meters. You can swim, but without diving, and on board it is its own quartz movement with caliber B642.

The dial is in the Citizen signature style. It looks quite sporty. Black plate, slightly recessed brown windows for the chronograph and main seconds hand.

The date is also quite deep at 3 o'clock. On a black background so as not to distract attention.

Some of the labels are superimposed and note that they are in the same style as the arrows. There is a black stripe in the center.

Looks cool. I like it.

The price tag today is 17,230 UAH, which is quite good for a well-known brand in Titanium, with sapphire glass and Eco Drive technology. In principle, Citizen's only honest competitor in quartz is Casio. But there is a more brutal style. You have to look again at what you like more.

Phoibos Eagle Ray Compressor GMT quartz watch

But for the Phoibos microbrand, quartz is more of an exception. And the model from the Eagle Ray Compressor collection is precisely that exception.

We have a watch in the "Super Compressor" style, and even with a GMT function (a second time zone, for which a separately displayed hour hand with a red tip is responsible).

But the “Super Compressor” style is distinguished by a bidirectional bezel hidden in the middle, which rotates thanks to a separately mounted valve on top. By the way, in this model, both the crown and the valve are screwed, which is very good.

Water resistance is 300 meters, so this is a full-fledged diver's watch.

Well, Phoibos, in turn, as always, will give you a great product for a fairly affordable price.

The case is made of 316l stainless steel. And in this version it has a matte finish. It looks like titanium. The mirror polish on the rim and lugs again gives a greater sense of volume.

The back cover of the watch is also mirror polished and shows the different time zones. Just in line with the GMT function.

The quality of workmanship is TOP for the money. And the case comes with a nice tropical rubber strap with a quick-change system. Lots of holes to let your hand breathe in the summer.

And it sits really comfortably on the hand.

Diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 47 mm, thickness - 10.5 mm, weight - 82 grams.

It's the exact size on my hand.

In general, this model has 5 dial colors, but I only have 4 left.

This is definitely one of my favorites.

This is a straight gloss with a gradient from burgundy to more black.

Superimposed marks, beautifully polished hands.

Minute markings in the form of a railway track along the edge of the dial. It looks very solid for its price. Plus, bright Swiss Super Luminova.

Overall, the characteristics are great.

  • 300 meters water resistance.
  • Sapphire glass with 3A layers of anti-reflective coating
  • On board is the Swiss quartz Ronda 515.

And all this costs only UAH 11,890 today. It's very difficult to even say which brand can offer something like this for that kind of money.

Next, I want to show you the newest model from the microbrand Spinnaker Hull on Japanese mecca quartz.

Spinnaker Hull Quartz Watch

Mecca quartz is a hybrid mechanism where the chronograph second hand moves smoothly like in mechanics. That is, it is a bit of a visual deception.

But in this model, quartz still gives out a small seconds hand in the lower dial, which moves in time. Very often in watches with quartz movement, this hand is removed as evidence that it is not mechanical.

The case is in the retro shape of a "TV". The sides are mirror polished, and the polishing is at a very high level, I am reflected in it as if in a mirror.

But it slightly dilutes the polishing of the welt with satin, and the satin upper parts of the lugs.

The design of the watch is really nice. By the way, the water resistance is quite low at 100 meters, but all the buttons are screwed, so you can swim.

And here it's like genuine leather, which doesn't like moisture, but on its back it says that it's moisture-repellent.

By the way, the straps are of very good quality. Carefully sewn with thread. The upper part is like suede. I can't stand it tactilely, so you should pay attention to this for yourself.

In terms of dimensions, our diameter is 42 mm, from lug to lug - 47 mm, thickness - 15 mm, weight - 87 grams.

They fit my hand perfectly again. The lugs are quite short, so the fit is comfortable.

"Sandwich" type dials. They look quite bulky.

The hour markers are slightly recessed, as are the silvery basins of the chronograph windows.

The date is unusually located at 12 o'clock. Plus, it's a Big Date. Which not only looks cool, but is also convenient.

Minute marking on a separate, silver plate.

Plus there is the Swiss Super Luminova.

It definitely looks delicious. I like it!

The only features I didn't mention were the mineral glass and the same quartz caliber. This is the Seiko VK73.

Depending on the color, the price today varies in the range of 12,450 UAH. Again. The option according to the formula: design-quality-price - chic.

Let's move from the microbrand to the Swiss Certina DS Podium.

Swiss watch Certina DS Podium C034.417.11.097.00

I personally like them a lot. Plus, I think that among the inexpensive Swiss watches, Certina has some of the best quartz models.

And here it is no less important that the watch has patented Precidrive technology. The error is close to that of a chronometer and is approximately plus or minus 10 seconds per year.

Quartz itself is accurate, and this one can be said to be super accurate!

Great design. You will always recognize the Podium. There is a special shape of the case, there are certain details that distinguish this watch from others. Plus, there are just a huge number of options for configuration and colors. And it's not just like that. If this watch were not in the TOP, there would not be so many options, which is logical.

The case itself is made of 316l stainless steel. The sides are satin-finished. There is a mirror polish on the rim on the buttons. You can say “Very good” about the default finish of the Certina. Because that’s how it is.

The buttons are comfortable, ergonomic. There is a click when you press. The head is comfortable. It is definitely more conveniently implemented than the Citizen one that I showed.

On the back cover is the expensive, very deep Sertina signature turtle as a symbol of protection of their DS concept. By the way, it is very rare for the Swiss to have such a wonderful engraving on an inexpensive watch. Respect and honor to Sertina for this!

The bracelet also does not cause any problems. Secure attachment to the case. Central links with polishing, extreme ones with satin finish. As I have said more than once, it all gives volume.

Butterfly clasp. Convenient and looks good. No quick-change system. But it's a pretty old model, so at that time it wasn't as popular as it is now.

Dimensions.

Diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 51 mm, thickness - 12 mm, weight - 146 grams.

They fit perfectly on my hand. Although the ears are long, they are awesome. I like them.

According to the characteristics, we have sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating, we have water resistance to 100 meters (you can just swim without submerging), and on board there is a fairly popular Swiss quartz chronograph G10.212. It has only one problem. It is not easy to understand, so if something happens, it has to be completely replaced.

And let's not forget about Precidrive technology. That is, in a regular, basic caliber, accuracy will be worse.

The dial is handsome.

I really like that the hands and markers are quite large. Plus, the Arabic numerals are not small. First, the readability is good because of that, and second, it gives that spice of style that makes this watch easy to recognize.

For a chronograph, the quality is excellent. The markers are superimposed, the chronograph windows are slightly recessed. Everything looks very harmonious. Plus the Swiss Super Luminova.

This watch costs 26,920 UAH today. Considering that this is a fairly well-known Swiss brand with history and good quality, I would say that it is quite good. A good mechanical Sertina will be significantly more expensive.

Ukrainian limit AVI-8 Ukrainian Limited

And I personally made this AVI-8 watch in collaboration with the AVI-8 brand, which today belongs to the same company that owns the Spinnaker brand.

About half a year after the war started, the guys suggested I make a "Ukrainian Limit". At that time, there was absolutely no time for this, so I put the idea aside, but by the end of 2022, things calmed down a bit and we developed a prototype. I removed a lot of Ukrainian symbols, because the version that was immediately offered to me looked like a Ukrainian flag. I wanted something more restrained.

So, six months later, a batch of 50 such watches was made in Hong Kong, which come in a large gift box. With an additional textile strap, a tool for replacing it, and a certificate indicating the serial number of your particular model.

This number is also indicated as an engraving on the back cover of the watch itself.

This is pure aviator style. The watch is quite large.

The case is monolithic, nothing superfluous at all. Diameter - 43.5 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 13.5 mm, weight - 90 grams.

And my daughter's watch fits my hand quite well. Although you have to understand that aviator watches are quite large. The style itself is like that.

316l stainless steel case. Fully satin-finished. Good quality finish.

The buttons are ergonomically pleasing, but I miss the sound when pressed. The head is very comfortable.

Genuine leather strap. Good quality. We embroidered it with threads under the flag of Ukraine, but now I look at it and realize that I wouldn't have embroidered it if I rewound it. But it's a matter of taste.

But most importantly, I was satisfied with the case and dial.

The dial is somewhere between silver and white. Great contrast, great readability.

The left window is made in the colors of the Ukrainian aviation. From the symbolism there is also an aperture to give the date in the colors of the flag of Ukraine. Plus it is neatly signed Ukrainian Limited.

According to the specifications, we have water resistance of 50 meters, which means you can wash your hands and not be afraid of rain, we have mineral glass and Japanese Seiko quartz on board.

This watch costs 14,950 UAH today. I have about half of the 50 left today. By the way, a good part went abroad. If you like this style, you can safely take it, we did a really good job. The only thing I would definitely change is the leather strap. It is not bad, but to me it looks like a weak link. But that is a matter of taste.

Well, for some, it's an opportunity to pick up something as a souvenir directly from me and my Feeltime store. But it will be valuable for those who have been with me for a long time!

Today I want to show you another, in my opinion, iconic quartz Certina from the DS Action collection.

Swiss watch Certina DS ACTION C032.851.44.087.00

And again, there are many versions and colors, and I have the top-of-the-line variation in titanium on display, and it's a quartz chronometer with this tag.

And this means that a watch with the highest possible accuracy should have an error of up to 5 seconds per year.

In general, I want to say that the watch looks very cool, again, it has its own face.

I would say that the highlight of some nuances are the very unusual triangular markings on the dial.

The dial itself is just perfect. It matches the color of the case and bracelet. The applied markers give a wonderful volume.

The 12 o'clock mark is highlighted with an Arabic numeral, plus the date sits very harmoniously at the 6 o'clock mark.

And the Swiss Super Luminova.

Very light, practical watch. Great quality of the case finish. It is satin-finished, but there is a mirror polish on the bezel and crown. This is enough to make the watch look expensive.

On the back cover, you will again be delighted with the deep engraving of a turtle.

The bracelet is light, well made. Butterfly clasp. No questions.

By the way, the head is screwed into the case for better tightness. This is a diver with a water resistance of 200 meters.

We have sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating, and on board is a quartz chronometer, as we discovered, F06.411.

Dimensions

Diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 11 mm, weight - 99 grams.

It fits perfectly on my hand. But on a larger one, I think it will be even better.

The price of the most expensive titanium version today is 31,400 UAH. But the metal versions will be much cheaper. 24,950 UAH.

Order the model HERE .

And we return to the aviation style again in the face of the American microbrand Hemel.

American microbrand Hemel

And this is again a Mecca quartz with a Seiko VK64 caliber. There is no main second hand here, and it is difficult to tell whether it is quartz or mechanical. What I was talking about when showing the Spinnaker Hull.

The watch looks great. I really like its design. And for me, absolutely all aspects are strong, starting from the top-quality genuine leather strap.

And it is really made at a very high level. Thickness, color, firmware, branded rivets next to the case. Everything is done at a high level.

Finished with a high quality 316L stainless steel case. Beautiful satin finish.

Quite ergonomic buttons. Comfortable head.

The bezel is clear and confident. With a 120-turn ceramic insert.

Among the characteristics, we have 100 meters of water resistance, sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating.

Just a sexy panda dial. Absolutely black color and white chronograph windows opposite.

I really like the font of the hour markers, plus there's bright Swiss Super Luminova.

Bright, orange chronograph seconds hand.

By size:

Diameter - 42 mm, from lug to lug - 50 mm, thickness - 13.4 mm, weight - 96 grams.

They fit my hand perfectly. And I personally like them a lot.

The price today is 19250 UAH. By the way, they are more expensive than the German Zeppelin, as you can see. But they are made and feel better. Although I really like both models.

You can order HERE .

Well, in the finale, I'm ready to show you the real king from Hamilton from the Khaki Aviation collection.

Swiss watch Hamilton KHAKI AVIATION X-WIND GMT CHRONO QUARTZ H77912135

And if AVI-8, Zeppelin, and Hemel were just watches in the pilot's style, then this is a real tool with functionality for real pilots.

And I want to make it clear right away that I won't show you this, because I don't understand it, and I don't want to. Most buyers of this model still buy it for its branded, brutal design, not for its functions.

Although, you can also calculate wind speed here, all the buttons on the left side are screwed in and are responsible for setting the logarithmic scale.

Plus, the bezel also rotates for adjustment.

I want to show you more the beauty of this watch. Of course, the design is special. Masculine, brutal. You will immediately recognize this monster from a kilometer away.

The quality of the case finish is high. You can look at the Hamilton finish forever.

The buttons are comfortable and ergonomic. The clicking is clear and understandable.

By the way, there is also a helpful drawing for pilots on the back cover. But let's leave that to real pilots.

The bracelet is also gorgeous. The links are so beautifully crafted. I really like that the edges of the central links are framed by thin strips of mirror polish. It seems like a small thing, but it makes the bracelet look very expensive. Which it actually is.

The clasp is also a power! A large, fully molded flapper. Everything is adult-like.

Well, the dimensions are not childish at all. Diameter - 46 mm, from lug to lug - 54 mm, Thickness - 14 mm, weight - 220 grams. Almost like an Invicta.

But the funny thing is that I can't say that they fit my small hand well, although they usually look great on a large wrist.

We have sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating, water resistance - 100 meters. All buttons are screwed. That means you can swim. And the Swiss caliber G10.962 is installed on board.

Premium dial. Matte black color. Small windows with silver frame, as well as the hands, are perfectly polished.

Overlay, satin-finished hour markers are expensive to cast.

In the upper left window is the GMT function (second time zone), in the right is the 12-hour chronograph.

I want to say that it is very easy to tell an expensive watch from an inexpensive one by the dial. Here, in the details, you can see that the watch is expensive. On cheap ones, there is no such gloss in the details. And in order to see this, you need to see both expensive and cheap dials.

I would say that this is such an inexpensive, yet very original alternative to the same Brights.

They cost 54,120 UAH today. And they are worth the money. A very charismatic, emotional watch. A blast.

You can order HERE .

Well, friends, as you can see, there are quite a lot of interesting quartz watches. And there are quite expensive quartz ones. Hamilton is not the best.

And I want to emphasize once again: Quartz or mechanical, you should choose depending on your needs.

Once upon a time, quartz almost killed mechanics. To survive, sellers had to make mechanics a premium. As if quartz is for the poor, and mechanics is for the rich. But believe me. What mechanics, what quartz in the segment up to $ 1500 is essentially for the poor. Not literally.

Of course, when a watch costs more than a certain amount, there must be mechanics, because they are manufactured mechanisms, and there is indeed a certain art to it. And when there are basic calibers inside, there is little art there)

What do you think?

Well, you can buy each of these beauties in my online store Feeltime with an official 2-year warranty from a dealer in Ukraine. I will leave the links in the description of this video. Plus, I will leave my personal telegram if you have any questions.

And that's all, Stanislav was with you as always, until we meet again. See you later.
