When I made the last video about my new Hamilton American Classic, at the end I shared plans for the watches that I would like to add to my mini set today.
And the watch that I now have on my wrist was exactly on my wish list.
It just so happened that I wanted a green version, but in fact I settled on a purple dial.
Let's give a short background.
In 2021 I was choosing my first Phoibos watch. Initially I really liked the Wave Master model.
At that time it was on a metal bracelet with a diameter of 42 mm. Since I had previously worn Invicta, such sizes did not bother me at all.
And I wanted to buy this watch for myself, but the Phoibos Voyager was supposed to come to my store, which I really liked in the pictures, and I still wanted to wait, compare it with the Wave Master and make a choice.
As a result, Phoibos Voyager has arrived. They seemed small to me (their diameter is 40 mm) and I was about to take the Wave Master, but I gave myself a little time and finally settled on the Phoibos Voyager.
In fact, my old Invictas made my eyes very soapy. When you wear a 45-50mm watch you get used to it, but in fact over time I realized that my ideal size is probably closer to 40mm. Maybe even 39 mm. Unless it's some kind of sports or military watch.
But in 2024, Phoibos make a knight's move and release a large number of colors of the updated Wave Master with a diameter of 39.5 mm.
“Wow,” I think. Here it is. The opportunity to get an additional watch that I once liked, only in the best size for me.
Initially there are 5 colors. I have already filmed a full review of them, I will leave it for you in the description of this video.
I really liked the purple one, but here Phoibos again slows me down by announcing the future release of green (one of my favorite colors), and even with an updated clasp.
“Well, that’s it, this is definitely it,” I think, I order the model and wait.
Well, in the end it turned out that the purple and green ones arrived. I tried on some, tried on others and realized that I liked purple better. I don’t have purple ones yet, but I already have green dials, so I’ll take something non-standard.
I've had this watch on my wrist for two days now. I'm happy about them.
In this article I will talk a little about my feelings about the watch, talk about its advantages and disadvantages that I have noticed, and at the end I will also summarize and add some of my thoughts.
In terms of design, they are practically no different from the first Wave Master models. They just got smaller.
And of course, the new dial colors + Phoibos did not bypass the GMT fashion.
This watch has a second time zone, which is indicated by a separate orange hour hand.
Below it is a 24-hour scale on the dial and the bezel itself rotates here not by 120 clicks, as usual, but by 24.
Its task is precisely to shift the 24-hour scale that is marked on it.
The bezel, by the way, is well made. Ceramic insert. Comfortable.
The shape of the body itself is very similar to the same Phoibos Voyager. Maybe that's why I like both watches. This is called some kind of formed taste.
But in fact, the watches look different. This is of course influenced by many elements.
I love that the new Wave Master is completely satin while my Voyagers are mirror polished.
The finishing quality of this watch is divine for the price. It's cool that there are few elements with a mirror polish. This gives excellent volume.
In fact, this watch plays great in the light and you can immediately see that you have some decent watch on your hand. Definitely something expensive. Although in fact the price of these watches is quite affordable.
It’s great that Phoibos, as always, will delight you with small, pleasant elements. This is the same engraving of the brand logo on the crown and on the back of the watch.
Everything was done to perfection.
I really like the sizes.
The cleanest watch possible for everyday divers.
Diameter - 39.5 mm, from lug to lug - 47 mm, thickness - 12.7 mm, weight - 184 grams on a full bracelet.
I removed about 6 links.
On my arm it is 18 cm. The girth is perfect. And diameter. And height. I like very much.
The bracelet is excellent. Quite brutal. On screws.
And finally, I finally got the chance that Phoibos not only makes a clapper fastener, but also added a cool diving extension to it, which made my life a little easier yesterday.
The master removed the links and in one version it was very loose, but when you remove the link it is already tight. And then I myself can regulate this moment with the fastener. It's comfortable.
This model also has a quick replacement system, which is also a huge plus.
If you look at the price list, you will see that in my store some Wave Master colors are cheaper, and some are more expensive. This is precisely due to the clasp and quick replacement system.
The first revision was with the old type clasp with a tongue. They are cheaper. Now the green ones, one black one, a silver one and a purple one with new fasteners have arrived at my store.
The black ones are gone, I kept the purple ones for myself. And silver ones can be bought with both the old type and the new one.
In fact, the new clasp has its drawback. Aesthetically, it may not appeal to everyone.
That is, it is very big and brutal. The transition in the bracelet is noticeable. Another thing about the old type of clasp is that the clasp is more like a continuation of the bracelet, which somehow looks neater. But this is a matter of taste.
In terms of characteristics, this model, as always, is at its best for Phoibos.

On board is a Japanese mechanical movement with a self-winding Seiko nh34. Analogue 35 caliber, only with GMT function.
Well, the brightest 15 layers of Swiss Super Luminova. I'll tell you that they shine like a lantern. This is by far the best lume watch I own.
Well, the dial is just sweet.
Purple gradient from purple to black at the edges.
I wanted to take something that didn't exist yet. Something bright, but in moderation. And this dial just meets this requirement.
Applied markers and well-polished hands give classy volume.
The color combination is gorgeous.
I like very much.
As a result, this is my 6th watch in the set today.
And I’ll tell you that for me this is already a lot for today. Sometimes you have to scratch your head and think about what to wear.
With the purchase of further watches, I will be as thoughtful as possible, since after a certain number it can become burdensome, and I don’t want that.
Well, or I’ll have to part with some watches.
Speaking about the model itself, it is gorgeous. They definitely feel more expensive than they actually cost.
I love what Phoibos do. It is a fact. And I am sure that I will wear this watch much more often than my Hamilton, which is much more expensive than this, but which now sits in a case more.
Of course, this color may not be the best solution for the first hours of every day. Although...
But I already have 5 of them, so I just wanted something unusual.
Therefore, in such cases, I would rather look not at black or blue, but at some other, brighter color. It is for this purpose that Phoibos make such colorful varieties as orange or yellow.
So this is how I became the owner of my second Phoibos model.
