Friends, hello everyone. Stanislav is with you as always, and today for the first time on my channel I will be reviewing watches from the young Swiss brand Raymond Weil from the Freelancer collection with you.
Short brand history
The brand was founded in 1976 during the quartz crisis and, of course, for a watch company, such a life span can be equated to the life of a fetus.
However, the company is firmly established and known throughout the world.
Many consider Raymond Weil to be a Swiss micro-brand, but this is definitely a mistake. It's just that in the vastness of Ukraine the brand is not as popular as other eminent Swiss.
It just so happens that it is much easier to promote something that is already in demand than to deal with something that may or may not work.
Therefore, in this regard, from the point of view of doing business, stores can be understood.
I will not go into the history and achievements of the brand too much. It is always more interesting for me to see what a watch is and honestly tell you about it.
Package
I'll start with the packaging.
It is pleasant, but given that the watch has a price of 95 thousand UAH today. Which is equivalent to almost $ 2400 - I would honestly say that they frankly saved on the box.
The box itself has a nice and useful carrying case, but it feels like it's not premium.
It also comes with instructions and a warranty booklet. In general, it’s nice, but for the money, and given that the brand is not the most popular in our open spaces, I would like something with the “Wow” effect. There is no such effect here.
Watch quality and design
The watch itself is very nicely made. This is 100% casual style. That is, the model is suitable for almost any style of clothing.
I chose one of my favorite green colors for review, but in general there are more neutral versions on leather belts and on bracelets.

Watch sizes
Diameter - 42 mm, thickness - 10.8 mm.
Case quality
The body looks quite simple at first glance, but you can see a complex curve at the bottom, and lugs with difficult transitions. Those are just nice details.
On the finish, we can see a satin finish on the lower part of the body, and a mirror polish on the welt and on the top of the lugs.
The head is large and comfortable. Brand engraved. I really don't understand why they made it screwed. 100 meters water resistance. This is not a diving watch, and the constant screwing in and out of the crown for a casual watch is not very good. That is, from the point of view of protection - okay, from the point of view of convenience - not very much.
On the hand
On my wrist, 18 cm in girth, they sit well. Even with long ears. But on a larger hand they will sit even better.
Strap
The strap is made of durable green nylon. The inside is lined with a thin strip of black leather.
Nice quality. But the clasp is already ranked as a very high quality. Very cool, powerful and comfortable clapperboard with Raymond Weil brand engraving.
Through the transparent sapphire case back, we can admire our own RW1212 movement, which contains the index number of the company's head office in Geneva in its name.
manufacturing mechanism
This mechanism was developed in collaboration between Raymond Weil and Sellita. A small power reserve of 38 hours and it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
The finish looks cool. Branded rotor, Geneva waves on some elements. There really is something to see.
You can also admire part of the movement through the open balance at 6 o'clock on the dial.
Clock face
The dial itself is very clear and understandable. Unobtrusive green color once again does not dazzle and does not distract attention.
Silvery, applied hour markers create good volume and excellent contrast, which has a positive effect on readability.
Actually, even the second hand was not introduced here.
I would say that it all looks simple, concise and expensive at the same time.
And the dial is covered with sapphire glass with external and internal anti-glare.
Results
As a result, I want to say that the watch is good.
Excellent and recognizable design. Laconic and expensive. Nothing extra.
It's nice that the board has its own mechanism. The only thing is that the power reserve is small.
What I have a few questions about is the price. It's not that these watches are not worth the money, it's just that our people often choose to buy something more popular for the same money. Even with the worst quality.
Raymond Veil are well-established in the world, but in Ukraine they are only gaining a foothold in their positions.
Overall, this is a breath of fresh air. Sip is not cheap. And if you are tired of some monotony of popular brands, then here is a great option for you.
