Friends, hello everyone, you are on my channel about Feeltime watches, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will look at a new product from the microbrand Phoibos from the Leviathan collection.

The Leviathan collection itself is quite old. We can say that it is one of the basic ones.

What I mean?

There are models that Phoibos comes out with, sells, and never appears again. But there are models that have remained in the brand’s range for many years.

That is, a certain base. Well, this is how Tissot has been selling its PRC200 model for a million years. The watch seems to be old, but still remains a hit and relevant.

It's the same here.

But, if the first revision of Leviathan featured huge, brutal models with a case diameter of 44 mm, then in the new edition Phoibos followed the new fashion trend, and this is precisely a reduction in size.

In essence, the new product by designers is no different from the previous version. Why, exactly, reinvent the wheel?

Nevertheless, it was released in smaller cases, in 5 new dial colors and on a stainless steel bracelet, which greatly changes the perception of the watch.

Well, let’s see what came of it together.

What is so special about the first revision of Leviathan?

Well, first of all, they are really big and brutal. 45 mm. The largest model of the brand.

At a fairly low price, they have amazing performance. Complex, faceted body.

Strap with quick change system.

This watch is beautifully crafted in detail: the engraving on the crown, the cool engraving on the back of the watch, the unusual shape of the sapphire crystal, the dial is very well designed.

At the same time, the characteristics are hellish. 500 meters of water resistance (there is a helium valve to stabilize the pressure in the watch).

The bezel itself is ceramic.
And on board is a Japanese mechanical automatic Seiko NH35A.

At $350, this is a very serious proposition. I think that for this reason these watches are precisely the base of the Phoibos range.

Well, now let's look at the new product.

And let's start with the dry characteristics so that we can immediately understand the difference between the previous version.

Sapphire with 3 layers of anti-glare is still there.

Only the glass shape is a little simpler. It's just flat. I won't say that this is a drawback. More complex glass reduces readability.
There are 15 layers of Swiss Super Luminova. Let's immediately see how it works in real life.
Japanese mechanical Seiko NH35A is on board. 42 hours power reserve. There is a STOP second. An excellent, one might say basic mechanism for microbrands at this price.
But the water protection has been reduced. Now it's not 500 meters, but 200. There is no helium valve here, but the head still screws on.

I'll tell you this, for an ordinary person there is no difference. You still, even at 200 meters, are not using the potential of this watch.

Most likely, the water protection has sagged precisely because of the more accurate dimensions.

Let's take them off:

Diameter - 40 mm, from lug to lug - 48 mm, thickness - 13 mm, I weighed 174 grams on a full bracelet.

Well, what can I tell you, on my small hand it is 18 cm. The girth of the watch fits like a glove.

Of course the new model changes the feel a lot. I wouldn't wear the previous version, at least because of the size. And these sit like family.

The watch case and bracelet are made of 316l stainless steel.

Total satin finish. In terms of finishing quality, I don't see any difference from the previous version. There is such a deliberately rough texture here, which perfectly emphasizes the style of the watch.

The head is comfortable. It is located under protective bulges.

Bezel with ceramic insert for 120 clicks. The grip is confident, the move is moderately tight. The sound is very unusual. Fairly quiet. It’s as if they put a muffler on a standard bezel.

The watch back has a cool engraving of the brand logo. Plus, the main characteristics and branding were written out in contrast.

The bracelet is very good. Purely in terms of geometry and finishing, it is excellent. Very pliable, flexible. Links on screws.

The only thing is that the edges will still be a little sharp. It could have been better.

And the clasp is an old style. On the other hand, it looks very good purely visually. The new type of firecrackers are fat. It would have been very disruptive.

Well, the quick replacement system is missing.

Phoibos will likely improve this in future versions, if there are any. But the price will of course rise. As practice shows with Wave Master, it’s about 60 dollars.

The dial hasn't changed much in terms of design. Just some details.

Looks very cool. Rough, granular plate of yellow color.

Very voluminous, applied markers, which, like the hands and the date aperture, are highlighted in bold black. This gives incredibly cool readability, and in my opinion it looks gorgeous.

The dial is definitely good. I don't know about you, but I enjoyed it.

Let's go with the results.

What do we have?

We have a cool design that is still in demand over the previous model. And the new model, by the way, does not kill the old one. Since these are still different watches. At least for different hand sizes.

The watch looks great and unique. Thanks to Phoibos for this, they learned how to make their own designs.

The watch is well made. Of course, there are some shortcomings and wishes regarding the bracelet, but these are definitely not complaints for this price of the watch.

A watch with excellent characteristics.

And of course, as always, I’m glad that Phoibos gives you the opportunity to choose both a bright and a more discreet dial. It is clear that those who already have a watch are more likely to take the yellow one. For a change.

But you can safely take black and silver as your first watch. Although tastes differ, for some, yellow for everyday use will be great.
