But I really wanted to consider the mechanical version, which is usually taken apart like pies, while the paradox lies in the fact that many simply blaspheme it godlessly.
Well, my task today is to understand why this watch is so loved even many years after its release - it remains a bestseller. And for what they are not loved so much, but no matter how the ill-wishers puff, it does not spoil sales in any way. Rather, it warms them up.

In terms of design, I have no questions. The watch looks interesting, recognizable, obviously has its own face. I always recognize this pattern on another man's arm.
This is already a plus, since you pay money for your brand face.
The case on the sides has branded cutouts, by which you can immediately understand that this is a Tissot Seastar. A combination of mirror polish and satin finish.
The quality of the finish for this price, I would say mediocre. Take, for example, the same Certina or Hamilton from the Swatch Group, which owns Tissot, and the former in this budget will definitely have better finishes.
The massive crown is screwed down. Has an engraving of the letter "T" (Tissot) and on the sides there are protective flows.
120 click bezel. With ceramic insert. The grip on the bezel is very comfortable, and notice that it protrudes a little beyond the edges of the case. This is what makes it convenient.
The clicks are crisp and sure. There are no loopholes here.
The back of the watch has Tissot's signature stripes, but it looks rather rustic.
Through the clear glass, you can see the Swiss Powermatic 80 caliber 80.111 .
Yes, this is the same, already slightly outdated caliber, which has partially plastic parts. The power reserve of the movement is 80 hours.
There is a lot of discussion about plastic parts. Here, please write in the comments. Has anyone really encountered the fact that this somehow negatively affected the operation of the mechanism? Or is it more your far-fetched phobias and desire to chat on the forums?
The watch sizes are as follows.
Diameter - 43 mm, from ear to ear - 49.5 mm, I measured the thickness of 13.3 mm, although 12.7 mm is stated. There is no way to check the weight now, but offhand it is 150-160 grams.
On my hand 18 cm. They sit well in girth, but for me the size of 43 mm is already a bit too big. I think this watch will fit better on a larger wrist.
The bracelet is complete. With quick change system. The side links are satin-brushed, the central links are polished.
Both the form and the finish are somewhat rustic for me personally. Let's be honest, frankly rustic for this price.
As well as a rather dull clasp with a latch. Yes, it is cast inside, but the outer part in 23 looks miserable.
The dial is, perhaps, what personally pleased. Beautiful wave color. Overhead watch marks make a very pleasant volume.
The markers, as well as the brutal hours and minutes hands, are well polished. Seconds hand with "T" tip on the counterweight.
The date is discreetly displayed in a round window at 6 o'clock.
And of course the Swiss Super Luminova on the hands and markers.
After the dial, a professional water protection of 300 meters also fixes a pleasant impression.
Results
The price in stores in Ukraine and in mine, including, today is 35550 UAH.
And I'll tell you that Tissot, probably the only ones who, since the beginning of the war, did not disdain to constantly raise the price tag. At the same time, the models both sold well and are sold.
This is a real fact. I come to the store, they brought a new batch. I come in a couple of weeks, the stand with Tissot is already bald.
And this despite the fact that the watch has a completely mediocre finish, a simple bracelet and a dull clasp.
This is despite the fact that even Powermatic 80 is here, but already outdated.
So why are they so well bought then? Yes, because the buyer of Tissot does not give a shit about everything that I have listed.
The buyer of this brand needs the design, the brand itself and their status that this brand carries.
The buyer of this brand does not care that there are other watches that offer better quality for the same money.
And it just needs to be accepted.
