If you go to the store of our partners Deca, you can see at least a few models similar in design.
At the same time, they look virtually identical, and the price varies by almost 5 times. So what's the catch there?
The fact is that our model with such a reference CASIO G-Shock GMW-B5000G-1ER or as it is also called “five-thousanders” is a modern launch of an old Casio model with the most sophisticated stuffing, a solar battery on board, the presence of bluetooth and the ability to synchronize clocks with your smartphone via Casio's proprietary app.
In addition, these watches are made of stainless steel, not polymer, as on budget models.
Despite the fact that the watch looks very similar to the budget Casio models that I showed you at the very beginning, there are still differences.
The resin-lacquered stainless steel case stands out and has a noticeable difference from the polymer.
And if the case here is varnished, then the welt has a distinct metal texture, which also gives a good contrast.
The back cover is fully screwed into the case, and is not screwed in with 4 screws, as is the case on budget Casio models.
There are 2 buttons on each side of the case, each of which is responsible for a specific function or action. More on this later.
The watch strap is made of rubber. The quality is good, but I wouldn't say it's outstanding. Of the features of this model, there is again a stainless steel plate that adjusts the length of the strap.
Let's take measurements. The widest part is 43.5 mm, the length from ear to ear is 48 mm, the thickness is 13.5 mm and the weight is 98 grams.
And this is how the watch sits on my hand 18 cm in girth. This is definitely my size. The ears do not stick out, but I want to say right away that the hand should ideally be just from 18 cm in girth or the watch will be too big.

According to the characteristics, I’ll start with the fact that a solar battery is installed here, that is, the watch is charged from natural sunlight. One day in the sun is enough to charge the battery for many months to come.
Plus, there is an energy-saving function that allows the watch to work for long months in complete darkness if it is no longer relevant for you.
Battery life can be up to 10 years or more.
Of course, if we are talking about Casio G-Shock, then by default it should be understood that this is a shockproof watch in this case with excellent water resistance of 200 meters. You can not only swim in the watch, but also dive.
The glass is mineral, but don't let this bother you too much, as it is correctly located below the level of the welt, so it will be physically difficult to hit it.
Results
What I want to say at the end. I do not quite perceive Casio as a full-fledged watch. In the sense that for me the watch should look familiar. I consider Casio as a great tool. This is a truly recognizable, unkilled, technological watch with a huge number of functions.
And if you have where to apply all this and it is important for you that your watch does not suffer from shocks and dirty work or a very active lifestyle, then this model is an excellent choice.
