Friends, I welcome everyone, you are on my channel about feeltime watches, Stanislav is with you as always, and today we will talk about one of the most popular models of the Spinnaker brand - Dumas.
I have shown you this watch more than once. Every year the brand releases different versions of it, but it just so happens that right now there are a huge number of colors in my feeltime store, some of which I saw for the first time, and I want to show them to you.
The model itself is dedicated and named after Frederic Dumas, who was a famous driver, oceanographer, made a significant contribution to the development of this field and was at one time part of the legendary Jacques Cousteau team.
Actually, the design of these watches has echoes of retro dive watches of the last century.
The case has a large size of 44 mm and brutal, chopped shapes.
It seems to me, but it probably doesn’t seem to me, Spinnaker have improved the quality of their watches. The finish has definitely become nicer. And this can be seen in some details such as the back cover of the watch.
We have a combination of satin and mirror polishing on the junction of the surfaces and on the side of the bezel, which gives the watch more shine and volume.
Head with protective beads. Convenient. Sleeve with the letter “N” with luminescent coating. Glows in the dark.
The bezel is nice. The edges are smooth, but this makes the grip uncomfortable and will slip if your fingers get sweaty. And this is a diver's watch with water resistance of 300 meters.
The bezel movement itself is confident, the clicks are pleasant, there are no backlashes.
A few words about the bezel. The insert here is made of tempered glass. In general, the bezel is beveled and the anti-reflective sapphire crystal rises slightly above it, so it is physically difficult to hit it.
However, I have already had clients break glass. Several times I brought a new case from the manufacturer. There's an absolutely reasonable price.
The last time, the right color was not yet available. Thanks to my client Andrey, who suggested that he solved the problem by installing a 42 mm ceramic insert from Omega Seamaster. She fit like a glove and looks great.
So, of course, there is a possibility that someday the bezel can click, but here either I will help you with the original part, or there are alternatives for replacement.
Through the back cover you can admire a classic for microbrands at this price. This is a Japanese Seiko NH35A. The power reserve is 42 hours, there is a STOP second. The error per day according to the passport is from 20 to 40 seconds, in reality it is usually better.
To be honest, there is nothing to admire there. There is no finishing as such. Well, thanks to Spinnaker for at least installing a custom pendulum.
The bracelet is powerful. With such a thickness, its geometry is excellent. The finish is good. The clasp is again classic for this price. Cast inside, stamped outside. There is a diver's extension and 3 holes to micro-adjust the bracelet to fit your hand size.
I announced all the characteristics in the process, let’s talk about the sizes.
44 mm diameter, from lug to lug - 47 mm, thickness - 15 mm, weight - 211 grams on a full bracelet.
Due to the short ears, they fit well even on my small hand of 18 cm. In girth, but you should understand that the model is large. A bigger hand will look better.
Well, let's go along the dial.
I really like the white color. The color contrast is amazing. Readability is excellent.
The minute track is slightly elevated. The hour markers are applied, all with a black border, as is the date aperture at 3 o'clock.
Unusual arrows. The hour clock is small, but the minute clock, on the contrary, is huge, and is highlighted in red.

The dial looks cool. And readability, I repeat, is excellent.
What about the prices:
17350 UAH for almost all colors of this version in my Feeltime online store, which is equivalent to 440 dollars at the exchange rate.
These watches are great sellers and, apparently, there are reasons for this.
In my opinion, this is a successful and memorable design, it is excellent quality and characteristics for this price. What else is required from a microbrand?
If the guys were able to do their own thing and not steal from someone else, they were able to do it well and not ask for a million money for it, then this is quite enough today.
And Spinnaker is also a fairly well-known and dynamically developing brand. The company has grown significantly in recent years.
