American Ocean Crawler Watch

Friends, hello everyone, you are on the channel about Feeltime watches, Stanislav is in touch as always, and today we will look at unique watches from the American, premium microbrand Ocean Crawler.

The model is called the Great Lakes Kraken and is released in a limited edition of only 100 watches worldwide.

In general, I want to tell you that the Ocean Crawler brand as a whole has taken the right model for developing its business.

The guys use popular body shapes, make limited editions in small runs, make art models, which for many (and for me) is an extremely important thing.

Well, imagine. All people are like people, and on your hand you have a gorgeously made watch with a unique design on ceramics and a model released in a limited edition of 100 pieces.

At the same time, the quality is top, the characteristics are top, the price is very reasonable.

That is, the Ocean Crawler brand creates quality, not like everyone else and in small print runs. And who doesn't want to feel special?

That's why I believe that the guys have a bright future.

And today we have just such an art-limited edition, released in a small edition, for review. And I suggest we move on to viewing it.

Let's start with packaging and accessories.

In my first review of the Ocean Crawler I said that the box was premium.

Nice textile fabric, natural wood inserts, suede inside. Really richly made.

There is a nice booklet with the model range and an unusual warranty card made of stainless steel.

Plus, you can see that the set includes an additional strap made of genuine leather. But more on that later.

The model itself is made in the popular “turtle” case, which, I think, will always be popular.

Also, this is a "Super-Compressor" watch. That is, you can see that the bezel is under the glass and is adjusted by a separate valve at the top of the case.

The valve is pleasant to work with. It is large enough to be able to grab it normally, and small enough not to dig into the wrist and to feel the watch comfortably on the hand. The valve is screwed for better tightness.

I like that the case of this model is 40 mm in diameter. That is, it looks good on a small wrist of 18 cm in circumference.

In general, I will tell Christian that I would like more models in this size, since the main composition of the Ocean Crawler turtles is 44 mm. For me, this is still a bit large.

Case diameter - 40 mm, from lug to lug - 44 mm, thickness - 13 mm, weight - 98 grams.

I would say they are a bit plump, but the size is perfect for an average wrist. My wrist, by the way, is 18 cm in circumference.

The decent thickness is also felt due to the decent water resistance. Here it is 300 meters, that is, it is a full-fledged diver.

The characteristics as a whole are simply evil:

Extremely thick 4mm sapphire with anti-reflective coating.

An expensive and reliable Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-1 is installed on board. The power reserve is 40 hours, it operates at a frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour.

In general, for those who know, there is no need to explain that this is a trouble-free, reliable mechanism, which the Swiss often use in more expensive watches, and make their own mechanisms based on this caliber.

The case itself is made of 316l stainless steel. Fully satin-finished. The quality of the finish is very mature. It is absolutely clear that this is not a cheap watch.

The back cover has a deep and voluminous engraving of an octopus, which we will later look at in detail on the dial. By the way, the limited model number is also indicated here.

The main strap is made of Kevlar on the outside and genuine leather on the inside.

Honestly, I haven't encountered this material in a million years. The last time I saw it was on the Americans Invicta.

Kevlar feels like glossy textile. Very durable material.

The quality of the strap is excellent. The only thing I would like is a quick-change system. Especially since there is a second strap.

The second belt is made of vintage, genuine leather. It is made and looks very cool.

Inside is the city of Rochester, New York, where these watches are actually made.

So Ocean Crawler is not just an American brand, they actually make watches in the United States.

All that's left for us to do is admire the dial.

And this is certainly a blast. A gorgeous image of an octopus. Volumetric, bright, shocking to some extent.

The coating itself is a combination of enamel and ceramics.

It is clear that the readability here is so-so, but you yourself understand that such watches are not about readability. Although you can get used to the hands without any problems.

By the way, if you look closely, you can see the texture of the waves on which the octopus is raging. Cool.

Well, in the dark you will also like this whole picture.

Let's go over the results and the price.

The price today in my online store Feeltime in Ukraine is 55350 UAH. At the exchange rate, this is about $1300.

In my opinion, this watch is absolutely worth its price.

Here you have design, quality, complete set, packaging, and, most importantly, the idea itself, and a small print run. Plus, made in the USA.

Of course, this is not your first watch. Such models are bought by those who are already a little fed up with everyday watches and want something exotic.

These are the kind of buyers Ocean Crawler is aiming for. And rightly so. But what's the point of creating something that already exists? Sometimes I look at some new brands and really ask myself: "So what? What's the point of this? It's already existed."

So I think the watch is just right, and you can buy this model and other Ocean Crawler models in my Feeltime online store in Ukraine. I am the official dealer of the brand. The watch has a 2-year warranty.

How do you like the watch? Share your opinion.

And I hope that you found it useful. Don't forget to support me with a like, subscribe so as not to get lost, and with you as always Stanislav, until next time. Bye
