Today, unfortunately with a great delay, I will consider the Certina Swiss from the Urban collection, which was released in 2020 as a special version for the 60th anniversary of the Double Security concept, which Sertina successfully uses on his watches.
The concept of Double Security was first introduced in 1959, thereby the Certina brand made it clear that their watches were maximally protected from shocks and various shocks of everyday life.
This concept is imprinted on the back of the watch in the form of a deep engraving of a turtle.
True, in this model we can just see the inscription: “To the 60th anniversary of the concept of Double Security”, which is a more logical move for these watches.
Equipment
The watch comes in a branded, limited edition wooden box. It differs from the classic Certina boxes. The package will include all standard documents, including a warranty card and such a mini booklet specifically for our model.
Model design
The clock is made in vintage style. The case is only 41 mm in diameter, although the lugs are quite long - 48 mm. The thickness of the case is 12.6 mm, and the weight is 138 grams. A pleasant heaviness is felt.
Case quality
The body is fully satin finished. The quality of the finish is top notch. I am reflected in the clock as in a mirror.
I really like the bulging side protrusions. The very shape of the case and where the ears begin, to which the bracelet is attached, are clearly outlined.
The crown is quite massive and comfortable.
Bracelet and clasp
Hybrid bracelet. Milanese weaving also contributes significantly to the vintage look of the watch.
The bracelet is adjusted under your wrist by removing the extra rings at the clasp, which already have a more familiar shape.
The clasp itself is a butterfly. Fully cast. Very comfortable and practical.

On my hand 18 cm. In the girth, the watch sits like a glove. The bracelet wraps around the wrist perfectly. To tell the truth, I had a certain love for this watch, despite the fact that I am not a fan of this style.
Clock face
Let's finally pay attention to the dial, because it is simply magical in this model.
An unrealistically expensive gradient from deep green in the core to black at the edges of the dial.
Finely crafted wedge-shaped hands and hour markers. The hour markers are overhead and add a nice volume to the dial. There is also an invoice and the Certina brand logo with the name of the DS-1 concept at the bottom of the dial.
And of course the big day. It not only looks stylish, but is also very comfortable.
True, the pebble at the 6 o'clock mark is very for an amateur, but it is hardly noticeable, so even if it is not to your taste, it will definitely not cause unnecessary irritation.
Covers the beauty of the dial sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The glass is slightly curved.
Powermatic 80 mechanism
The watch is equipped with the Swiss Powermatic 80 movement with a huge power reserve of 80 hours. In addition, this version has a balance spring made of Nivachron titanium alloy, resistant to magnetic fields and shocks. This is a very important element of a mechanical watch, as mechanics sometimes end up in service simply because the watch has become magnetized and either starts to rush or lag behind. Demagnetizing them is not a problem, but why do you need these trips to the master?
And finally, I note that the water resistance of this watch is 100 meters, which is quite an acceptable mark for a vintage, everyday watch. You can swim in them, but without fanaticism.
Results
Today, this model in our store has a price of 38560 UAH, which is equivalent to $900.
Are they worth their money? According to my feelings, if there was an inexpensive quartz, Swiss movement, then even in such situations they would be worth it, because the model is smartly made, has excellent workmanship, just a magical and detailed dial, and in general I would say that this watch looks expensive and amazing. I have enjoyed them immensely!
