Phoibos Depth Hunter watch

In principle, it is obvious from the name that this is a diving model. And it is. Water resistance is 300 meters, the head is screwed and is located in the right corner of the case so as not to put pressure on your wrist when bending your arm.  

On the back cover there is literally a deep engraving of a submarine image.  

Honestly, I was impressed with the quality of the engraving and the overall finish of the back cover and lugs. Usually, even expensive Swiss watches can save money on the finish of the lugs on the back, but here everything is done at a very high level.  

If you look closely and make an analogy, the watch itself looks like a submarine.  

Quite brutal, angular shapes. Like a target in the center of the dial.  

And I want to point out right away that this watch feels bigger than it does on paper. Because when I announced it, people immediately wrote to me: "If only it were bigger."  

And with its diameter of 40 mm, it feels like a full 43 mm. So I can honestly say that it's too big for me. At least in my opinion.  

Our sizes are as follows:

Diameter - 40 mm, from lug to lug - 48 mm, thickness - 11 mm, weight - 180 grams.  

It seems like everything is fine with the numbers, but, again, the fit for my hand doesn't seem very good to me.  

In total, the model has 8 color options. Three of them are: white, black and purple dials duplicate each other.  

This means that the color of the dial is the same, but the color of the case is either metal or black. The black version is stainless steel with DLC coating. DLC is a special coating that is comparable in strength to diamond and is harder to scratch.  

So it's all a matter of taste. But it's good that Phoibos gives you a choice.  

I, for example, don't really like black watches. But I can't help but notice that the black version with red accents is just BOMB. It looks very brutal and masculine.  

In terms of watch quality - IMPRESSIVE.  

Complex body geometry. Excellent quality of workmanship. The head is cool. It is both large and textured, but at the same time it never interferes with the hand.

The bracelet is not unique. I didn't notice it right away, but then I realized that Phoibos pulled it into itself. Namely, from the Apollo model.  

The bracelet fits this watch perfectly and the quality of workmanship is top notch. The finish, geometry, screw links. The clasp is basically the same as the one I showed you on the Voyager. In fact, it is their standard clasp today.  

Let's go through the characteristics.

The model is equipped with a Japanese automatic Citizen Miyota 9015. The power reserve is 42 hours, the frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour. This is already the entry-level level of expensive Japanese movements.  

It is also quite popular, reliable, and hassle-free.  

The watch has a ceramic bezel. And it has an amazing texture, as if it were made of stainless steel. It is not immediately clear that it is ceramic. Very soft, comfortable and confident bezel. No backlash. I liked it.  

300 meters of processional water resistance. In principle, Phoibos, with its name and all the details, clearly positions this watch as a professional diver's watch.  

Sapphire glass with 3a anti-reflective layers, and 15 layers of Swiss Super Luminova. But I want to note that luminova works differently in different models.  

For example, in black with red accents, there is no glow. But in the classic version, the glow is wonderful.  

The dials are conceptual and chic in detail.  

I really like the rough textures, like they've embellished the dial like a target inside.

In terms of readability, you need to get used to it if you are guided purely by the dial. Here the bezel will help you. It has detailed minute markings and it is better to guide yourself by the minutes.  

Conclusions

So, the current cost of versions without DLC coverage is 21,000 UAH, with it - 22,260 UAH.  

I will say that the design is successful. Conceptual, very unusual. Certain colors are questionable. For example, pink or purple. But these are just versions for people who definitely won't buy this watch as the first one.  

You can see, for example, that purple goes great with my green sweater. So these are specific colors that will beautifully accentuate your specific wardrobe.  

I like how this model is made, I have no questions about the quality or any nuances. I clearly understand that for its budget this is a very mature and well-made watch.  

As for who it's made for, I think it's for people with an active lifestyle who want the Casio-LumiNox style, but not in plastic, but in stainless steel.  

This is definitely a watch for a large wrist. Don't be fooled by its 40mm diameter. I repeat, it feels quite large.
