And it's love at first sight. I have heard about the brand more than once, but only a few days ago I saw the watch live for the first time. They are chic. They look very fresh, very unusual, have their own pronounced face and a number of cool features, which I will talk about during the review.
By the way, the brand not only looks fresh, it is literally very young and was founded in the USA in 1989. Already in 2006, the company was bought by the Swiss and now all Luminox watches are labeled Swiss Made. That is, made in Switzerland.
If in 2 words, then this is a real, men's watch, with brutal cases and characteristics that can endure fire, water, and cold, and even this watch managed to visit space.
Luminox has contracts with the US Army, making and supplying watches for the Navy, Marines and other American troops. Actually, the popularity of the brand began with this, when at one watch exhibition the founders of Luminox received a huge order for the US Navy.
But today, let's not go too much into history and move on to our watches.
The model is called the Original Navy Seal EVO and in fact is a reference to the origins of 1994, when the Navy Seal models were first introduced, developed in collaboration between the US Navy and Luminox. To this day, this series is a favorite of fur seals.
Equipment
I suggest you start by unpacking. And here from the start there is an unusual mesh, in which there is a very nice plastic box Luminox.
Inside the box, there is such a convenient model holder, and under it you will find instructions and a warranty card.
The packaging is absolutely consistent with the brutal style of the watch and I personally really liked it.
The main feature of the Luminox watch, which has attracted the attention of the US Navy so much, is that the watch has a unique glow. Yes, these are tritium tubes on the hands and hour markers. In this model and at the zero mark of the bezel.
These are tritium-filled boroxyl glass capsules. Tritium shines noticeably brighter than conventional luminescent, plus it does not require special recharge from either artificial or natural sunlight. That is, it always shines for 25 years.
It is important to understand here that after 25 years it will not stop shining, just the glow will become dimmer.
And you can already see how brightly highlighted the arrows and marks even in good lighting. But let's take a look in the dark.
I think it's cool. The clock glows constantly and no need to fool around with recharge.
The next feature of the Luminox XS.3001.EVO.BO watch is the case, which is made of carbon. To be more precise, Luminox calls this material Carbonax, which is made in-house using a patented technology.
Carbon is 6 times lighter than stainless steel, 3 times lighter than titanium, while it has ultra-strong properties and virtually does not scratch.
In addition, it is really pleasant to the touch.
The case looks like a small and neat barrel. Pronounced sidewalls, protective ridges at the crown, 60 clicks anti-clockwise bezel. The grip, by the way, is very comfortable, but the rotation, according to my feelings, is a bit unusual. Still, this is not stainless steel and the course is different. I don’t even know how to put it into words, but it’s tactilely pleasant. There is a slight bezel play, which does not bother me at all on a carbon watch.
Watch sizes
Our watch sizes 43 mm - diameter, from ear to ear - 45 mm, thickness - 13 mm, strap width - 22 mm, weight - only 58 grams.
Watch on my hand
The watch fits perfectly on my wrist 18 cm in girth. I like the orange version better. It's still more readable.
The black version has a very unusual effect. That is, at certain angles it seems that the dial is just a black spot. You can't even see the labels. And, of course, some people will love it.
I want to give the strap a separate respect. This is a very high quality rubber. I won’t tell you this on video, but it’s unrealistically smooth, soft and you immediately feel this premium quality! Just take my word for it.
The version with orange markings has a stainless steel clasp, while the version with black markings also has a stainless steel, but with a black coating. Nice clasp with this mini Luminox brand logo
The back cover of the watch has an interesting engraving and, to be honest, for a long time I could not make out what it was. In short, this is an eagle that holds a trident in one paw, a gun in the other, and an anchor against the background of all this. Difficult of course, but the concept is remembered.
Well, the back cover is made of stainless steel.
Characteristics of Luminox XS.3001.EVO.OR watch :
According to the characteristics ... Since this is a diving model, its water resistance is 200 meters. The button is screwed for better tightness of the case.
The watch has a tempered, mineral glass and a quartz, Swiss Ronda 515 movement. Here, Luminox went a little too far on its website regarding the complexity of this mechanism, since it is as simple and budget-friendly as possible, but nevertheless it fits perfectly firstly to this style , secondly, to the price segment of these watches.

As for the price, today it is 14770 UAH. In my opinion they are worth it. Very cool design, very cool quality of the case and especially the strap, tritium tubes, good performance. All this is present in the models.
