To be honest, I do not really want to go into much of his history. I don’t know about you, but I personally get very bored when reviewers tell the story of a brand for a long time. I just look and think: “Damn, let’s show the clock already. It doesn't matter what the story is. If the clock is not interesting, then the background will not help.
But do you have an opinion on this? Write in the comments. Briefly, I will say that the brand was unofficially founded in 1925, and so to speak “officially” in 1983. So it is quite young, but at the same time the company managed to gain a significant weight in the world of watches.
Unboxing
Let's start with unpacking. We have a box in a box. Leather trim. It seems to be done well, but personally I don’t have the feeling of some expensive box. Normal, good box, but no more. There is a slot for documentation, but the store told me that only a warranty card comes with this watch.
Our model belongs to the Passion collection and is absolutely everyday. I would say that the style is Casual, but of course it can also be classified as a classic. In any case, the design is very versatile.
The case is made of stainless steel and in terms of finishing I was definitely pleased. Excellent satin quality, there are thin transitional stripes of mirror polishing at the junction of the side and top surfaces.
Mirror polished on the welt and a fairly large crown. Maybe even too large, but it will be convenient in terms of use.
The back cover is transparent and made of mineral glass. You can see the work of Swiss mechanics, and this is our reliable and time-tested entry level of the expensive segment - the ETA2824 caliber.
28800 vibrations per hour, 38 hours power reserve. The watch is wound by natural vibrations on your hand, but there is also a manual winding.
What is interesting is that the watch has a very pronounced switching of head positions. With such straight clear clicks. I think this is the first time I'm hearing this.
Dimensions
Watch sizes. 41 mm - Diameter, ear to ear - 49 mm, Thickness - 11 mm. The width of the bracelet is 18 mm. Weight - 146 grams. There is a nice weightiness.
Watch on my hand
The watch fits perfectly on my hand 18 cm in girth. I'll tell you there, focus more on the length of the ears of 49 mm. The declared diameter of 41 mm is a rather misleading figure. The watch is large and on my hand you can say they sit back to back. The wrist is 17 cm, it seems to me that it would already be small for this model.
Bracelet
From the bracelet, I got the feeling that it is made in the same place for both Certina and Epos. The same pains, the same virtues. Let's start with the first one.
The geometry of the bracelet is not perfect. It seems to be soft and pleasant, but on the extreme links near the body it sticks a little. Exactly the same thing I have seen more than once in Sertin, so I immediately thought of the similarity.
But the quality of the finishes here is superb. Mirror polished on the three central links and satin finish on the side links.
The bracelet itself is cast. And in general, if you do not find fault with trifles, it is done quite well!
The clasp is excellent. Cool, fully molded clapperboard. Fitted, comfortable, beautiful. There is additional adjustment on the side holes.
Characteristics
According to the characteristics, in addition to the mechanism, sapphire crystal is declared here. I don't see antiglare. Water resistance is 100 meters, which is absolutely ok for a casual watch. You can even take a dip. And luminescent on the hands and hour markers.
Clock face
Here we have absolute minimalism. Applied markers in the form of blocks, minute markings in the form of a railroad around the circumference of the dial. Correct arrow length. It seems to be simple, but the dial here fits perfectly into the overall look of the watch.
Results
Summing up, I would like to say that this is a good option for the initial expensive segment of Swiss watches for every day. There is a pleasant and versatile design, good quality finishes, excellent movement and generally standard features for a watch of this level.
As for the price, it is in our stores today is 35,000 UAH. Is it expensive? For the Swiss, probably not. Well, of course, it's up to you to decide.
