Are Casio GSP-B100D-1AER so good?
If you follow my youtube channel, instagram channel, then you know that there are brands to which I am a little biased. Casio is one of them. Accordingly, the question arises: "Why?".
Reason #1.
This is purely my story. I don't like the hype stuff half the city wears. Wherever you look, Casio is everywhere. Teenagers, adult men. At the same time, Casio has its own pronounced style, but a bunch of models are so similar to each other and so faceless that I sort of understand what a Casio person has on his hand, but what kind of model is this? Yes, hell knows.
Reason #2
The second reason is that I love watches in their classic form and don't like watches that tend to become second gadgets. That is, a watch with a lot of complications. I just want to put them on my arm, see the time and look good. I do not want to understand a million functions, of which 99% I do not need. And Casio is far from being about simplicity.
But I understand perfectly well that there are other people and they like the Casio brand, so today I have prepared for you a review of the top model G-Steel GST-B100D-1AER .
By the way, the choice fell on them not by chance. A lot of Casio watches have a plastic case, and I don't like it either, although from the point of view of shock resistance, this is correct. And our model is a separate, premium branch of the G-Shock collection and is made of stainless steel, which of course immediately attracts attention and stands out among the model range.
As already mentioned, our watches are made of stainless steel. They are quite large and heavy.
The case visually consists of 4 parts: the bezel, the upper part of the case, under it there is a polymer gasket and a stainless steel case back, fixed with screws. The manufacturer claims that this watch is shockproof. Knowing the Casio brand, there can be no doubt about this. And it's certainly cool for a watch made of steel.
The bezel of the watch is screwed into the case with 6 screws and has function markings. It looks very brutal and, as it were, immediately hints with its design that this is a Casio watch.
There are 5 buttons on the case. The upper right button is responsible for the LED backlight, the middle button is a classic head, the lower right button labeled “Find” allows you to find the phone by the set signal if you lost it in the room and, accordingly, previously set the possibility of such a search in the phone program.
The bottom left button with red trim allows you to sync your watch with your phone, while the top left button switches functions.
On finishing we have satin finish combined with spot mirror polishing. Good quality.
Watch sizes. 48 mm on the bezel. 50 mm from ear to ear. Thickness - 14 mm. The width of the bracelet is 21 mm. Weight on the full bracelet 185 grams.
The watch on my wrist 18 cm in girth looks gorgeous. I like. But I think that the watch will be large on a smaller hand.
The watch bracelet pleased me. It is completely cast. It has a good geometry, a good finish in a combination of satin and spot mirror polishing and an interesting fastening…
I'm used to the stud always being at the edge of the link hole, but here they seem to be sunk inward. I don't even know how it stays there, but it looks unusual.
Cast clasp. Clapperboard. Very comfortable. There is additional adjustment on the side holes.
What we have according to the characteristics:
The watch caliber 5513, mineral glass and water resistance at the level of 200 meters are installed inside. The head is screwed for better tightness of the case. We also have a rather meager lume on the hour hand and mark and a more serious LED backlight. Let's watch and move on to the watch face.
The dial looks very nice. It has a techno style, a distinct Casio style. In the upper small dial, we see the days of the week on the right side, and on the left, such functions as: chronograph, timer and alarm clock.
In the lower small dial we have world time or a second time zone.
But in the left window there is a very unusual turbine, which shows the charge level of the solar battery, since our model is powered by sunlight. The more red in it, the less charge. The more black, the higher the charge, respectively.
In fact, of all the analog settings, only the classic stopwatch function seemed convenient to me. The timer and alarm clock are much more convenient to set up through the application.

The cost of this model today in Ukrainian stores is 21270 UAH. And I want to say that if you like such technological models, then this is a good option with a high-quality case, bracelet, recognizable design and an abundance of characteristics.
