A selection of AFFORDABLE classic watches
Friends, hello everyone, Stanislav is with you, online store Feeltime.com.ua and today I want to make for you a selection of watches in a style that is not typical for me - this is a classic.
In this review, I did not start from trends and the popularity of models. Nobody asked me to advertise this particular watch. I personally selected these models myself for the reason that I just liked them. And these are the classic watches in the affordable segment that I would consider myself if I were in a watch store and I had the task of buying exactly the classics.
List of models
My selection consists of 4 models, 3 of which are Swiss: Certina, Atlantic and Tissot, among which the Japanese Orient wormed its way. And by the way, in this selection, Orient is the only mechanical watch, so I suggest leaving them for dessert.
ATLANTIC Seabase 60352.41.65
Let's start with the Atlantic model from the Seabase collection. They are by far the most affordable on our list.
The watch is very accurate. The case diameter is 40 mm, rather long lugs are 47 mm, the thickness is 8.5 mm, the width of the strap is 20 mm, and the weight is only 48 mm.
And this is how this button looks on my wrist 18 cm in girth. Despite the fact that the body is small, it is worth considering the rather long ears. I believe that the hand for this watch should be at least 17 cm in girth, otherwise the lugs will stick out. Or you should have a thin but wide brush, then everything will be fine.
The case of the model is made of stainless steel with 100% mirror polishing. The case shape looks rustic, but that's what I like about Atlantic Seabase watches. Simplicity and minimalism. As I love.
The watch strap is made of genuine leather. And I will say right away that of all the following models, I like this strap the most. Yes, it's plain leather, but it's not crocodile like on other watches. This is a classic of the genre. Almost all available Swiss and Japanese watches have crocodile skin. Its quality is far from standard. And if you want your watch to play in full, then I would recommend immediately buying either something more serious, or even making your own custom strap from private masters.

So, the strap of this model is tactilely very pleasant, it has 2 locks for adjusting the length and a classic clasp engraved with the Atlantic brand.
The back cover of the watch is absolutely minimalistic, which is a normal story for inexpensive Swiss.
I want to put the dial on my own 5+. Excellent readability and fairly presentable appearance. I was very pleased with the overhead Arabic numerals and the little pictures opposite. Moreover, these risochki have a greater height than the numbers and this gives additional volume.
Very nice applied logo at 12 o'clock and there is a date window at 3 o'clock.
According to the characteristics, we have a reliable and unpretentious quartz, Swiss Ronda 762 movement, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a minimum water resistance of 50 meters, which is appropriate for a classic watch. You can wash your hands and not be afraid of rain.
The price of the watch today is 8650 UAH. Expensive or cheap - you decide. Well, we are moving on.
Tissot T063.610.16.058.00 T-Classic
Next on my list are Tissot Swiss watches from the T-Classic collection. I want to say right away that the model is quite large, despite the declared dimensions, but at the same time very thin.
The case diameter is 42 mm, lug to lug 51 mm, thickness 7.8 mm, strap width 20 mm. Weight - 56 grams.
This is how the watch sits on my wrist and I believe that 18 cm is the minimum limit for the girth of your hand, otherwise the ears will noticeably extend beyond the limits of the hand.
The strap is made of the same crocodile leather that I mentioned earlier. In general, the quality is good. A semi-butterfly is installed here, that is, it opens not by pressing buttons, but by physical pulling. The clasp is easily rearranged through the holes of the strap, thereby you actually set the length for yourself once and then use it calmly.
The case has a beautiful, streamlined shape. Material - stainless steel. The finish is a combination of satin finish on the sides and a mirror finish on the top of the lugs and on the welt. Finish quality is good.
Separately, I want to highlight a slightly domed sapphire crystal with such an expensive, domed effect.
The back cover of the watch, like the Atlantic, is the simplest, here, by the way, there is a cuar code tag with a number. I don't know what this code is for, but we won't show it once again and let the pirates fake this watch, since Tissot really has a lot of fakes.
The dial has a beautiful, checkered texture. Long, wedge-shaped hands, Roman hour markers, which are duplicated on the edges with small Arabic numerals. Laconic and presentable. Looks expensive.
According to the characteristics, we have a Swiss, quartz movement ETA F06.111, Sapphire crystal and water protection at the level of 30 meters. Everything is as it should be for a classic watch.
The price of the model for today is 9250 UAH. For the Swiss, Tissot is an absolutely acceptable price tag.
CERTINA DS-8 C033.451.16.051.00
Well, we are moving on and the next contender is the Swiss watch Certina. And this is not just a watch, but a Swiss chronometer, which has been certified by the COSC Institute and has an increased accuracy. Therefore, in terms of movement, this watch is already noticeably ahead of the previous candidates.
The watch measures 41 mm in diameter, 48 mm from ear to ear, 9 mm thick, 20 mm strap width and weighs 68 grams.
The watch on my wrist is 18 cm in girth and sits like a glove. My opinion is that the minimum entry threshold is a wrist of 17 cm in girth.
This model of all currently considered has the best case quality. It is made of stainless steel and is matched with a mirror finish on the sides and welt, and a satin finish on the top of the lugs. In terms of finishing, Sertina has always pleased me so far. And this watch is no exception.
In addition, the back cover of the watch has a rather deep and expensive engraving by the brand's turtle firm. Such seemingly trifles unequivocally give weight to the class of watches.
The strap is of the same quality as the Tissot, but at the same time there is already a full-fledged butterfly, which is triggered by pressing the buttons. This is of course a plus!
The watch face is absolutely minimalistic. Deep, black color, wedge-shaped hands of the correct length, applied hour markers. Excellent readability and nothing more. There is even a lume on the hands, but it is more of a decorative character, so I will not show it.
In terms of characteristics, we already have a more serious model - this is a movement with caliber f07.412, which, as already mentioned, has COSC certification and maximum movement accuracy. This is a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and more serious water resistance at 100 meters.
It goes without saying that this model is more expensive than the previous ones and its price is 14330 UAH. I believe that the Swiss of this quality are worth the money.
Orient RA-AC0J05L10B
We come to the last model from our selection - the Orient watch. And as I said, this is the only mechanic from the selection on the F6722 movement, which has a power reserve of 40 hours, 22 jewels, manual winding, automatic winding and Stop-Second.
Case diameter - 44 mm, Ear to ear - 48.5 mm, Thickness - 11.7 mm, Strap width - 20 mm, Weight - 66 grams.
This is how the watch sits on my hand and this is definitely my favorite. Very stylish, very beautiful dial, cool size, good thickness as I like it. In general, the watch is in my taste!
I liked the quality of the strap in this watch more than on Certina and Tissot. It seems to me that it is definitely more knocked down and objectively thicker.
The watch case is made of stainless steel. Everywhere mirror polishing, the quality of which I like.
The case back is transparent and you can see the mechanism in action.
The watch dial is a special highlight of the model. A beautiful deep blue color, a very pleasant shape of the hands with ultra-thin tips, thin and stylish Roman hour markers, and even a little confused over the date, making the backing black.
In addition to the mechanism, the watch is equipped with mineral glass and has a minimum water resistance of 30 meters.
Today, Orient watches are the most affordable from the selection. Their price is 8060 UAH.
Results
What watch did I personally like the most? Definitely my favorite is Orient. I love their plump case shape, they have a rocket-bomb dial and I just love them. After all, there are things that do not need to be substantiated.
If I were to compile my rating directly, then the second place would be taken by Atlantic Seabase. Again, I really like the shape of the case, the stylish and well-designed dial and the rather nice strap.
Tissot turned out to be too big for my hand, and Certina is the most charged in terms of quality and performance, but just not for me.
