Swiss Epos Sportive watches

Recently, a person wrote in the comments to my comparative review of Maurice Lacroix and Epos that time has put everything in its place.

On OLKh there are a lot of Maurices and almost no Epos. Based on this, he concluded that Maurice Lacroix is a bad watch and everyone sells them.

People just don’t know that Morisov is imported to Ukraine N times more than Epos, and they sell better, due to the more popular brand.

Epic is a rather modest brand by my standards, but it is definitely worth paying attention to if you are looking for high-quality, not hackneyed Swiss products without the extra overpayment for the brand, which, by the way, is present in the same Maurice Lacroix.

And yes, the fashion for watches in the Adhémar Piguet style and integrated bracelets, which was refreshed by Tissot PRX in the 20s, and which was picked up by many Swiss brands up to Sertina, did not bypass Epos either.

The Epos watch is delivered in a rather nice box. It’s not luxury, but it’s clear that there’s something inside that doesn’t cost 10 or 20 thousand UAH.

Frankly, if it didn't say Epos on the dial, I might have thought it was a Maurice Lacroix Aikon.

And I am 200% sure that the basis of the design was taken from the Icons.

First of all, the similarity is revealed by the polished accents on the welt. They are exactly the same as those of the Maurices, only there are fewer of them and arranged in a slightly different order.

The welt itself was made angular around the circumference, while Maurice’s is round. But this is noticed only when you examine the watch in detail.

The hands and markers on the dial are also like those of Maurice Lacroix “Icon”. It’s just that on some marks they left one little pattern instead of two.

And it would seem that it’s just a similar design, but this makes me think that Epic sometimes has design problems.

After all, we have already seen homs for the same Rolex Submariner.

Maybe I'm not in the best mood when I do this review and I just want to nitpick?

Just yesterday, when I picked up this watch for the first time, it pleasantly surprised me. The quality is excellent, very cool bracelet.

Let's still try to focus on the good.

Overall I like the watch. You can see that they are expensive and feel that they are made well.

316l stainless steel case and bracelet. This is mostly satin finish. Mirror polishing accents, which gives the watch more shine and a sense of volume.

The finishing quality of the watch is excellent.

To be honest, I thought these were the chronograph pushers on the crown. And then it dawned on me that there was no chronograph in the watch.

Frankly speaking, the protective bulges that look like buttons now confuse me a little. I don’t even know what else to add about this.

What pleasantly surprised me was the quality of the bracelet.

I shot reviews for you on both Maurice Lacroix iPhone and Tissot PRX, I don’t remember that the bracelets stuck in my memory as super cool.

Here I will absolutely remember that the bracelet in the new Epos Sportive is made to the highest standards.

It has a great finishing quality, complex geometry, it feels like silk, with such a complex shape. And this is pleasantly surprising.

The clasp is also very nice. "Butterfly" type. With the Epos brand logo.

Through the back cover of the watch we can admire, without exaggeration, the classic Swiss movements. This is ETA 2824, on the basis of which more than one movement from other brands is made.

25 jewels, 38 hours power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour.

There are no complaints about this mechanism. Well, maybe one thing is that such a mechanism can be found in watches for $500 from the same microbrands. But, again, do we all buy watches for the mechanisms?

Looking at the back of the watch, I want to say that with the price of the model being 69 thousand UAH, it’s somehow not comme il faut to make a bracelet without a quick replacement system.

Moreover, there are slots here. It just doesn't even look very nice. The guys from Epos, even Tissot, are already making a quick change system on their PRXs. You should also fix this moment.

The stated dimensions are as follows:

Diameter - 41 mm, from lug to lug - 48 mm, thickness - 10.7 mm, weight - 161 grams.

On my hand it is 18 cm. In girth, it seems to me that the watch is a little big. I would take them on a larger wrist.

Let's voice all the characteristics and move on to the dial.

100 meters water resistance. The head does not screw in. You can just take a swim.

Sapphire crystal with anti-reflection.

Overall an expected set. There can be no more in this style, and there is no need.

As I said, Epos borrowed the hands and markers from Maurice Lacroix.

I won't blame them for this. This is what is on the surface. If you dig, it turns out that Maurice Lacroix is not a saint, and they were also taken from somewhere.

3 dial colors arrived in Ukraine. Guess which ones?

Right! Classic set of blue, black and green.

Frankly, this watch is such a dark blue that sometimes it looks like it's actually black.

The plate itself has longitudinal stripes.

Thin and elongated applied marks. Thin and long arrows.

Readability is excellent. Overall I like the dial.

Swiss Super Luminova on hands and markers.

Let's go with the results.

The price today in Ukrainian stores and in my Feeltime store is 69,070 UAH. This is approximately $1750.

The hours are ambiguous.

If we put aside the fact that in some ways it is very similar to Maurice Lacroix, that this is a generally trendy and fashionable design now, that, by the way, it will be just the thing for someone (I just don’t like fashion), then this is an excellent watch.

They are well made. It seems to me, in my opinion, even better than the more expensive Maurices.

The brand is not the most hackneyed, which is also a plus for me.

As a strict everyday wear for a massive wrist, this is quite an excellent option.

And I suggest you buy it in my Feeltime online store with an official 2-year guarantee from the official distributor in Ukraine. There are Privat and Mono “payment in installments” without interest.

Links to watches are at the very bottom of the article.

Now tell me your opinion of what you saw, I’ll read it, and let’s discuss it. And that’s all, Stanislav was with you as always. Until next time. Bye!
