The essence of the microbrand
For those who are not in the know, the essence of a micro-brand is to give you the opportunity to buy watches with bombing quality and features at an affordable price.
Very often in the comments they write that for the money of this watch you can buy Seiko or Orient. Of course you can, but the quality will simply not be comparable.
And in order to buy branded quality watches like those of a microbrand, you will have to pay 2-3 times more.
And by the way, even those who are avid brandomaniacs often buy microbrands. Because many micro-brands now often give out really worthy watches that are of great interest.
And if branded watches can often be found, then the microbrand is still a certain exclusive. And this has its advantages.
In general, today there will be really cool models. Let's get started.
Spinnaker Spence watch
Let's start with Spinnaker Spence.
In total, 5 versions of the colors of the Spinnaker dial were released, but we managed to bring 2 colors to Ukraine. And in my opinion - this is the most successful of all possible options.
Of course, I would also like the blue color, which is always in demand, but it was no longer possible to order.
The richest equipment
Let's start with the kit.
Spinnaker Spence is considered an expensive collection of the brand, and the packaging is really up to par here.
In the protective slot you will find a nice travel case. I love that. In such a package, you can really safely transport watches. It's comfortable.
In the mesh pocket there is a warranty card and detailed instructions on how to use the watch and how to replace the bracelet or remove extra links.
For this, there is a special tool in the kit.
Here you can also see the watch itself and a bonus genuine leather strap.
There are additional studs under the watch, and if you pull out this foam pad, you can find places for attaching the strap and even additional pockets.
In short, it's really convenient and well thought out. The set is excellent.
Design
The design of the watch, as usual with Spinnaker, has a vintage style.
This diving watch is water resistant to 300 meters. It is very pleasant that with such a waterproof case, the thickness of the case is only 10.9 mm.

Case quality
The case and bracelet are made of stainless steel. The sides and top of the lugs are satin finished. As it is probably already fashionable now, between these surfaces there is a strip of mirror polishing, which gives the watch extra volume.
The head is large and without protective flows, which emphasizes the vintage style of the watch.
I like the quality of the finish. It can be seen that everything is done at the level.
The only thing is that the edges of the bezel are a little sharp.
Bezel, by the way, with an aluminum insert. Microbrands usually do not save on ceramics. Here, I rather see that the bezel with such a matte finish emphasizes the texture and style of the dial.
Shiny ceramics would simply draw attention to themselves.
The grip of the bezel is very comfortable, the rotation is clear and confident.
Clock face
I really like the dial. Matte coating. Expensive color from burgundy to black in one model, and from green to black in another.
Vintage markings, large wedge-shaped arrows. There is no date here, and it is not needed, according to my feelings.
Swiss Super Luminova on hands and hour markers.
Although the spinnaker has not yet learned how to make cool engravings on the casebacks, as the same Foibos do, they at least began to hide the mechanisms. Thank you anyway.
Mechanism
And on board the watch is installed caliber Miyota 9039 on 24 stones, with a power reserve of 42 hours, which operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The error according to the passport is declared plus or minus 10-30 seconds per day.
Bracelet quality
The bracelet is of very good quality. I especially liked the geometry. It folds like silk.
Plus a fully molded clasp. A very confident flapper with lots of holes to fit your wrist, for example in the summer when your hand swells a bit.
Additional genuine leather strap
Let's take a look at the straps.
They are made of natural, water-repellent leather. The brown dial comes with a black one and the green one with a brown strap.
The straps are of good quality and it's nice that they are, though it seems to me that it would be more logical to swap them. To brown - brown, to green - black.
Other characteristics
According to the characteristics, I did not name only sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and let me remind you that water resistance is at the level of 300 meters.

Fresh reissue of Phoibos Wave Master
The next watch in our review is from the Phoibos microbrand from the Wave Master collection.
And this is a relaunch of 2022 on the old model, which previously came out in the same design, only on a bracelet.
Frankly speaking, I once almost bought such a watch, but in the end I settled on Phoibos Voyager.
In terms of design, nothing has changed since the first release. But the quality in my memory has become better. At least in the finish of the case.
Case finish and quality
It is made of stainless steel and combines satin finish and thin strips of mirror polish at the junction of the side and top surfaces, as well as on part of the back of the watch.
And I want to tell you that if this watch cost around UAH 30,000, I would say that the finish is excellent, but when the watch has a price of UAH 12,450, I would like to say that the finish is cosmic.
I will pay special attention to details. Engraved on the crown and elegant engraving on the case back. Frankly, I don’t often see such elements even on watches that are 3-4 times more expensive than this model. Usually branded watches have very poor back covers at this price.
Dimensions
In terms of size, we have a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 14 mm.
Watch on my hand
On my arm 18 cm. They sit fiery in girth. Actually, it’s not just because I once wanted them for myself. And I was right between them and the Voyagers for several days.
What else has not been said about the body? Bezel. Ceramics. The grip is perfect. Processing is excellent, nothing cuts and does not cling. The move is confident, there are no backlashes.
Glass - sapphire with a triple layer of anti-glare.
Strap quality
Rubber strap. The quality is very pleasant. The inside is engraved and has a striped texture that gives your hand some air and will sweat less in summer.
Clock face
The watch dial is made from abalone shell. Watch marks are overhead, creating a pleasant volume. The hands are rough and rectangular in shape with sharp tips, which gives a feeling of brutality.
The second hand is expressed in orange, and the date is conveniently located at the 6 o'clock position.
And let's of course look at the royal Swiss Super Luminova.
Waterproof
Didn't mention the main characteristic of the watch. Still, they are divers. 300 meters water resistance. The head is screwed for better tightness of the case.
