Edox Delfin Mecano Watch

Friends, hello to all. You are on the channel about Feeltime watches, with you as always Stanislav, and today there will be a rare guest on my reviews - these are Swiss watches Edox from the Delfin Mecano collection.

The Edox brand is not the most popular in Ukraine, however, it should be noted that the brand is quite old, the brand is independent and has existed since 1884.  

Last year I photographed for you the ultra-thin Edox Les Bemons models, and today we will look at the opposite, a sporty, diving model.  

And I want to say that these are precisely those watches that are a mixture of some characteristics and components that, in the opinion of some, do not correspond to the price of the watch.  

Well, let's just look at all of this, voice it, and at the end I'll express my opinion on this matter.  

The model itself really looks very cool.  

I want to say that Edox Delfin watches have their own, absolutely recognizable design and today this is enough for these watches to have a place to exist.  

Because there are a lot of clones, a lot of watches that look like something. Here I can immediately see that it is Edox. This is a huge plus. Because first of all we evaluate a product by its appearance and its uniqueness.  

Of course, the main trigger here is probably the unique dial design. We will talk about it later and look at it in detail.

Speaking about the case, it is made of stainless steel 316l with black pvd coating. Quite heavy.  

I definitely like that it's rounded and streamlined on the sides, while the welt, on the contrary, is quite sharp and angular.  

At the same time, the combination of finishing is different. The sides are matte, the bezel is a combination of mirror polishing and satin finishing. And all these transitions give a cool volume and the feeling of a more expensive watch.  

The head is very comfortable. Under protective bulges. And with an engraving of an hourglass - the Edox brand logo.

The back cover is transparent, through it we can admire the supposedly own mechanism calibre 853, but like many, cunning Swiss, Edox in fact simply took the popular Sellita SW200 as a base. It has a power reserve of 38 hours, operates at a frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour.

Cool mechanism. What I want to tell you. Just recently I received a comment like: "Sellita SW200 in a watch for $1200?" This is about the Italians Venezianico. And these are not rare comments. And I often say that some Swiss brands use this mechanism in watches for over 2 thousand dollars. Here is an example for you.  

There are just people who, for some reason, judge watches by their mechanism.  

Take cars for example. There is a V6 engine, which can be found in cars of absolutely different class and different cost. This is just a part of the car, which does not determine the greater part of its cost. It affects - Yes. But it does not determine.  

The case is made great. I really like it.

The dimensions are as follows:

Diameter - 43 mm, from lug to lug - 48 mm, thickness - 12.5 mm, weight - 115 grams.

I will say that despite the large size, the lugs are quite short, so even on my thin 18 cm hand, the watch fits quite well in terms of girth.  

Let's touch on other characteristics.

It is a flat, sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating.

This is water resistant - 200 meters. You can dive in the watch.  

And this is Swiss super luminova on the hands and hour markers.

The strap is of very high quality. Rubber. Flexible, very elastic. It is easy and hassle-free to put on and take off the watch.

The only thing is, you can see that the mount is specific, so only the original will fit here. Well, if you order from an official dealer, and not from under the shop, then you can always order this thing.  

Well, let's look at the dial.

This is a skeleton. Our mechanism has a brown plate with a unique pattern. I'm not a fan of skeletons, but I really like this one.

Great idea with the markers and arrows in a combination of orange and black. It looks great and provides good readability, which is often a problem with skeletons.  

The hourglass logo is on the top of the dial and the Edox brand is on the right.  

Cool. I really liked it.  

Let's talk about cost.  

This model, unfortunately, is leaving for our client today in its last copy. There are other colors of this collection. The cost of this one was - 87750 UAH. Which at the exchange rate today is about 2100$.

Honestly speaking, the only drawback I can note about this watch is the quality of the box. I was absolutely delighted with the watch itself.  

Of course, someone will say, as always, that it is expensive, that you can buy something else for this money, with a more serious mechanism, but you know, I always say that a person usually chooses a watch based on its appearance and his feelings about the model and brand.  

That is, when you say - there is something better. It's such an abstract story. I am especially touched when I show one model, and they write to me, it's better to buy this one. I open it, and there is a stupidly different watch. Well, that is, I conditionally like BMW, and they write to me - there is no Hyundai. It also has 4 wheels. Also beautiful. Well, cool. Great.  

So if you like the design. It is unique, I can't think of any similar ones. The quality is excellent, the watch feels great. There is a brand, if that is important to you. The brand is well-known, the brand is recognizable.  

The choice is yours from now on.
