During my short acquaintance with the Tag Hoer brand, I have already managed to find out that Tag Hoer is different. There are inexpensive models that are often blamed for the fact that the price tags are high and the quality is ordinary, and there are also luxury series that get the most cream. Carrera is considered to be the same cream.
A little about the Carrera collection itself
The collection itself has existed since 1955 and got its name in honor of the famous, dangerous race Carrera Panamericana.
Actually, the Tag Hoer brand itself has always been associated with auto racing. Ferrari, Porsche. Here are just a few brands of cars whose autopilots have represented the brand at the most famous auto races in the world.
And if you ask a watch fan what is the most popular watch brand in the topic of auto racing, then you will definitely be answered: Tug Hoer.
Therefore, with such a big name, the brand sometimes makes watches, the quality of which for their not small price is questionable. They just can afford it. And in this review, we will look at the quality of almost the top of the brand and try to draw an unbiased conclusion.

The watch comes in a Tag Hoer branded box. I have said more than once that it is small, knocked down, and tactilely very pleasant. Without unnecessary pathos and huge sizes. That's it.

Design
The design of the watch no doubt says that this is a sports chronograph, made in the best traditions of style.
Clock face
What immediately attracted me personally was a very elegant dial. Perhaps let's start with him.
The first thing that immediately catches my eye is the Arabic patch marks. They look so authentic here, they give gloss, volume and brilliance so much. I don’t know about you, but this is just the element that is well deposited in the head and will not confuse this watch with something else.
The hands are again mirror polished. The central part of the arrows with a black stripe, which gives additional contrast and volume.
The tip of the second hand is red. Like the tips of all chronograph hands. Thus Tag Hoer separates the main time from the stopwatch.
Each small chronograph dial has an applied playpen, while the small dial of the main second hand, on the contrary, is slightly recessed.
The date aperture is made in such a way that it rises above the dial, but by the date itself and the days of the week, the frame goes under the bevel.
Thus, all elements of the dial are made in such a way that the sense of volume here is simply gorgeous.
And of course, don't forget about Tag Heuer's overlaid logo above the date and printed name of the collection below it.
In general, I want to say that the dial in the watch is probably half the battle in terms of their feeling and recognition. And in this model the quality of the dial is at the highest level. It is absolutely clear that this is an expensive watch.
The luster of the ceramic bezel with tachymeter markings only emphasizes all this gloss. I've always considered the tachometer scale to be a useless piece of history, but this style no doubt asks for an element purely visually.
Sophisticated body with fine finishes
The body is complex, chopped shape. Very sharp edges at the top. Many transitions from mirror polishing to patination.
The lateral part, on the contrary, has a complex, rounded shape. The crown is very comfortable, as are the pushers with notches in the color of the dial elements. Tactilely, each button is pressed very confidently, with a clear and understandable click.
Dimensions
The size of the declared case is 44 mm, from ear to ear I measured 48 mm, thickness 15.5 mm and weight 193 grams.
I want to say that the case is decent in numbers, and on my small hand 18 cm in girth it looks great. Just because the ears are short. Therefore, even a large diameter, under certain conditions, can fit perfectly on a small hand.
Mechanism
Through the back of the watch, we can see the Caliber 16 movement. It has 25 jewels, a small power reserve of 42 hours, and the movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

In general, the performance is not bad, only the power reserve is small. It is very convenient that there is a quick switching of the date and days of the week in the 1st position of the head.
The quality of the bracelet and clasp
Excellent quality bracelet. The main links are satin-brushed on top and rounded and polished on the inside.
There are also small, mirror-polished tubular elements that visually create a more complex geometry of the bracelet.
The quality of polishing on every side, even in places hidden from view, is at the highest level.
The clasp added to the pleasant impression. I still remember Tag Heuer's $1,000+ Formula 1 stamping. It's a shame, of course.
Here everything is at the highest level. Very neat, fully cast. Even the interior of the clasp has complex, curved shapes. It is by such trifles that you can usually distinguish expensive watches from inexpensive ones.
Well, as expected for a sports chronograph, here the water resistance is at the level of 100 meters. You can just swim without diving.
And I forgot to show a slightly convex, sapphire crystal.
Results

Is it expensive?
I will not judge this watch by performance. Some of them you can find in watches and for $100. We evaluate watches not only by the ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal and water resistance.
In this case, I can judge the watch by the quality of the dial, by the complexity of the case and bracelet, by its authentic design, and in general by my feelings when the watch is on my hand.
I can absolutely see that the watch is expensive. I understand why they cost so much. And in the case of the Carrera watch, I understand that Tag Hoer did not use his popular sign in a brazen way. The guys really made serious watches.
Perhaps I would like a manufactory mechanism with a large power reserve, but this is also not the main selection criterion for me personally.
The watch looks very brutal. I see them on the arm of a serious uncle driving some fresh BMW with an aggressive design, or driving a similar aggressive brand.
The owner of this watch is definitely a temperamental and combative person.
